There is a lot of discourse on both sides about when season 2 will start, so I’ll sum up the takes
March 20th: this is due to an epic employee stating he will change his banner in 2 days earlier today. This has led to claims of direct confirmation. Also, a tournament is scheduled for the 19th, and the monarch challenges are purchasable through the 19th. Also, there has been no declared downtime.
March 19th: the battlepass ends on march 19th, not the 20th, and every season (not counting seasons which ended in an event or had declared delays) begins the day the battlepass ends. Additionally, Fortnite/Epic has not spoken about any delays.
With the lack of teasers, I will go so far as to say that the reason for the lack of downtime declaration is due to the fact they want this season to start abruptly. If the next season does focus around a war occurring or a shattering earthquake, it would make sense that epic would not tease anything. In fact, I think the peely meditation video WAS the teaser. “Everything is fine, everything is peaceful” but we know due to earthquakes and paradigm returning, things are not going so smoothly. This season is meant to be sudden. I will add that they sneakily removed the bargain bin flair at about 1:30 am, which was meant to last through sunday. Odd.
This post will either be proven right or wrong in about 2 or so hours, but its fun to speculate.
