I don’t want to bore you so I’ll keep this short. I’m a LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) and I love fortnite. I’ve been playing it flat since season 2.

Tonight I attended a job after a call for service came over that a 12 year was attempting suicide. We attended and struggled to get him to talk to us. He stated he had made threats to kill himself and I observed several cuts on his wrist. After a good 15 minutes of little conversation with officers, I asked him what usually calms him down when he gets like this and the boy said ‘when I can just play fortnite and relax’

We spoke for a solid 5 minutes about our favourite skins(his favourite was raven), places to land and our favourite weapons and this young boy was amazed that a police officer had heard of Fortnite. He opened right up to me about everything that’s been happening and what got him to this point.

Long story short he’s now receiving professional help and I really feel like fortnite made this job so damn easy for me. I hope this young boy gets the help he needs and maybe one day I can duo with him!

Bonus: - Actual fake players (bots) suddenly appear out of no where and starts shooting at you with a random skin/weapon, does no damage to you and disappears if you hit it. - Chests that are allready opened or being opened when you’re nearby

Note: - I dont think this should happen often.. just like every once in a while.. and only 1-3 random sounds/happenings at the time.. often/rarely enough to make it believeable and to make every player unsure about who or what is is.

Epic, I am a deaf gamer, and ask you to please enable sound effects when the audio visualizer is enabled

I am a profoundly deaf player, with no hearing in one ear, and requiring a hearing aid in the other. This means I don't have directional hearing. So although I can hear footsteps, doors opening etc. and can roughly guess how far away sounds are, I have no clue in which direction to look.

When I saw in the 5.0 patch notes that the audio visualizer I'd seen on mobile was coming to console & PC, I was very excited to finally level the playing field a bit by augmenting my hearing difficulty with a visual aid (as were my squad of all-deaf friends of varying levels of hearing, who have the same problem). I was concerned about sound effects being disabled but wanted to give it a try.

So on day 1 of season 5 I booted up and switched it on... only within minutes of starting the game to switch it back off again. I hadn't realised the extent to which sound effects were disabled. I can't hear anything and the audio visualizer just plays to my eyes as visual noise, because it's in a whole different context; it doesn't assist my hearing, but apparently intends to replace it.

It's a weird, alienating experience that feels like to me less like an accessibility feature than a full-blown "deaf mode". Perhaps other players whose level of hearing are worse than mine, or even have no hearing at all would appreciate it; but hearing isn't an on/off thing, it's a spectrum. And this is nothing like what I hoped for. I don't want my limitations to be reinforced by having sound completely switched off. My hearing is rubbish, but it's still somewhat useful, and I want to use it!

I have discussed with some of my "hearing" friends who play Fortnite, and they suggest the rationale could be that the audio visualizer had to be nerfed in some way because players who don't need it could use it for an advantage regardless to enhance their directional awareness. To which I respond: so what? It doesn't bother me if a Ninja or Myth wanted to use it, and chances are they wouldn't anyway just because the visualizer is so busy and they seem to manage without. More to the point, I feel deeply disappointed that apparently keeping the game "fair" is more important than providing accessibility tooling without caveat to players that would genuinely benefit most from it, like myself.

As one of my colleagues sardonically put it: "We were so focused on not letting the disabled people beat us that we missed the point in helping them in the first place."

Epic, please enable sound effects when the audio visualizer is enabled, and allow me to experience the game the same way everyone else is able to.

Console needs a serious preformance patch before anything else is added to the game.

Already several posts have been made concerning the fact that since the Season 5 patch console has had terrible preformance issues. However, none of them have gained any serious traction or discussion, so I thought I would make a detailed post about several bugs that have been happening since the Season 5 patch, please add any that you think I may have missed in the comments and help me gain some attention to these bugs. I love that Epic keeps adding new things to the game, like Paradise Palms and that it can't be easy debugging and testing when making such major changes to the game. But these issues have been going on for long enough that I would have thought they would have been fixed by now, so I believe this post is justified. Just a warning I play on Xbox so there may be some PS4 specific issues I'm not aware of.

1. Buildings not rendering in time.

This is by far the biggest issue, and was the main reason for creating this post. This was an issue when Tilted was first added to the game, it often took 10-20 seconds after landing before the building would render and you could enter it. Ever since this new patch it now happens EVERYWHERE. It use to be that you could just avoid Tilted and go somewhere else but now it happens at every city. Sometimes they render instantly, sometimes it's only a second or two after you land and sometimes I'll be standing in front of a house in retail for 30 seconds before it renders properly. I have tried uninstalling fortnite, as well as deleting my cache and nothing so far has helped. It happens to the majority of my group although some on the newest version of the Xbox says it is not a problem for them. This bug is the worst one by far, and is actually ruining the game for me ATM. I absolutely will not do the solo showdowns if there is a 90% my building just won't load for me, leaving me without a gun.

1. Enemies being invisible.

This is a new one for me since this patch. Enemies can now be invisible, except for the gun/pickaxe. I'll admit the first time I got killed by a floating pump was pretty funny, all my friends got a kick out of the clip. The tenth time? Eh, by then I was over it. You can still see the gun, and hear the footsteps but the player model is invisible. Also, sometimes rather than being invisible they are just translucent. I can see like a white outline of their skin but it's almost like trying to track a ghost in fights.

1. Loot being invisible.

The first time I opened a chest and all that dropped was ammo and bandages I was really confused. But then I kept scanning right in front of the chest and realized there was an invisible hunting rifle. When your crosshair was over it the item name showed up, and you could still pick it up so if you are being observant this is not to big of an issue since most people know every chest drops 4 items. But oh wait, just yesterday I found out that this can happen with regular floor loot. My friends who was spectating me while dead saw a chug jug that didn't appear on my screen and kept asking me why i wasnt using it. Another very annoying glitch that has popped up recently.

1. Game freezes when seeing other players (and often just at random).

Anyone who watches Nickmercs is aware of this one. He said the PC guys referred to it as screen tearing but I'm not sure if that's correct. It has been in the game since the beginning but is now worst than ever. It seems to happen mostly when an opponent is right in your face, usually shotgun range. The screen will freeze for half a second, sometimes longer. This is perfect that it happens when an enemy is right in front you. Nothing better than lining up the pump headshot, having your screen freeze and then 2 seconds later hearing beedlebeedle. This also happens randomly, especially in major cities but I definitely notice it the most in fights.

There are other issues I could bring up like how awfully laggy 50 vs 50 is, why are players still allowed to use a XIM or even keyboard on console in general, player desync happens a hundred times more often than on PC and my Ping is 90ms even though I have great internet and run a wired connection but this post was more for the issues that have popped up since the last patch. If I missed any you would like to add please let me know in the comments. I know there are posts asking about some of these glitches already but none that are very detailed or have garnered any attention. Also, I'm typing this out on a phone so sorry for any formatting issues.

Mode breaking playground bug no one is talking about

Other people in your playground game's names stay visible over their head even when you switch teams. This has made playground unplayable for me as knowing where your enemy is at all times completely ruins 1v1s.

Epic can you confirm this is a known bug?

Ddosed offline! Cheating in Solo Showdown! Epic!

Repost for violating “witch hunting rule”... blurred out this kids name

So I just question up a solo showdown match on Xbox. I get in the pre game lobby and all of a sudden “connection timeout” this lasted for about 5 minutes while we where in the bus. Then all of a sudden I can drop. But there are only 9 people left. I think okay maybe the game bugged or something. I drop tilted. I kill one person and then all of a sudden I’m hit with a party invite. I join there are 3 other guys in this party and there like bro are you in this game right now with 9 people? I say yea it’s crazy and keep in mind they are all chatting with me about the game I’m in.. why would they all be in the same game? Then all of a sudden I start lagging uncontrollably ping is fine but insane amount of packet loss whatever that means. I catch on to what I think might be happening and I leave the party. I think people are intentionally wiping a game of people and booting people offline to have high placements. I have a video of their gamertags and some footage of it I’m going to upload but seriously wth! And also now my whole internet is offline....

Builder Pro | Turbo Building.

This has gone on long enough and it’s a joke that it’s not been fixed yet. With 5.0, Builder Pro and Turbo Building is buggy as hell, and the majority of the time nothing will build. I’ve lost countless games due to this, where I hold RT, and nothing places for a while. There are other issues among these, spicy as the trap swapping issues that is still predominant in my games. All these issues were supposedly fixed, but clearly not.

Edit: As u/Maineyyyy said:

Here's my experience With builder pro:

• Turbo building doesn't work half the time

• Trap swapping when placed (double tap X/Square and it will change trap for some reason)

• Trap won't even pull out when you press the button

• Unable to edit separate buildings when i am holding a certain build blueprint (i.e i can't edit stairs when i am holding walls, instead it would prefer to pre-edit the walls instead of editing the stairs)

• Unable to turbo-farm (Although this is an exploit, you're able to turbo farm on combat pro by pressing left** on the D-pad which allows you to emote without pulling the emote wheel up)

• Editing overall just takes longer on builder-pro than it does on combat pro, there should be a 'tap to edit' button instead of the default 'Hold B' or 'Hold Circle' to edit

• Press Left on the D-pad to auto emote not right

Special request to EPIC to make a little joke to my father (story inside)

Hi all, hope you guys are doing well! So this will be kind of a long read, but I have a special request for EPIC, and seeing as they are so active and listen to the community a lot, I figured I’d give it a shot. Some of you might have seen this story earlier in the "Epic Plz" thread, but I figured I might as well try to get some visibility by making this post.

So since my parents are split-up, me and my brother do not see our father very often anymore, and it has been this way for a few years. It kinda sucks, so we always have been trying to find ways to stay in touch with him as much as we can, and since we both really like video games, we always tried to get him to play along with us. At first, we tried showing him COD, but he never got into it. We tried the same with NHL, same result. This went on like this with a lot of games, but he never got the hang of it and as much as he wanted to play with us, he just did not have any fun with all these games.

Then came Fortnite Battle Royale. My brother was the first one to download it after trying out PUBG on a PC in some gaming place. He instantly fell in love with the game and decided to show it to us. This was in the middle of Season 2. Needless to say that I instantly liked the game and started playing it a lot. But what was a great surprise for both me and my brother was that our father fell in love with the game as well and after a couple of weeks, he went and bought himself a PS4 along with a PS+ membership.

After that, he started playing with us a couple of nights per week, when he had some time to. Then, he started calling or texting us almost every night to play with him. Now, every night that we have the opportunity to do so, we play with him, which is a really great way to keep in touch with him while having tons of fun doing something that the three of us enjoy.

At first, we always landed in spots that were unpopular because our father wanted to have a little bit of loot at first without getting killed by someone directly after landing since he was far from being any good.

After a while, they added Lucky Landing to the map. Our father was the first one to visit it between the three of us after the update, and it instantly became his favorite spot. When we first played with him after the update, he was all happy to show us this new point of interest in the map and how he already knew all the spots in this part of the map. The problem is, it became way too intense, to the point where he does not want to land anywhere else than Lucky Landing.

"The bus starts there? Well great, let’s drop at Lucky Landing as soon as we can drop!"

"Boys, the bus is very far from Lucky Landing, why don’t we go there? We’ll be alone and have some loot!"

"We’re kind of in the middle so there can be people anywhere, might as well go to Lucky Landing, what do you think boys?"

Basically, every single reason is good for him to land at Lucky Landing. Now, even if we do not want to go there, he’ll land there, with or without us. This has become kind of a running gag in our family, even with the ones not playing Fortnite (mom, uncles and aunts, etc.) He takes it very seriously and he knows that we’re kind of making fun of him because of that and we always find new ways to laugh about it, which always (well, very often) make him laugh as well.

The other thing we like to make fun of is his PS4 name, which is star2000star. We do not know why he chose this, but god we found it so funny at first because of how ridiculous it looks. Of course, again, he knows we make fun of him because of that, but he likes to laugh about it as well and always like the new jokes we make about his name.

Being inspired by Mr Hillman’s funny story, I thought about this and figured I’d give it a shot and see if EPIC could do something about it. Basically, what I would like would be for something to be added in Lucky Landing with his name on it. It could maybe be only a panel with "Home of star2000star" on it, or maybe a grave with "Here lies star2000star, #100 once again" on it, just something to honour him since he likes this place so much. It would be yet another way to remind him about his passion for Lucky Landing, while being really funny and a good surprise for him the next time he lands there (well maybe not the next time since it should be in a couple of hours).

I know that the odds are that it won’t happen, but I figured it was worth trying.

Hey everyone,

 

We've heard your feedback regarding SMGs and that they’re stronger than we would like at the moment. We agree and have just pushed a hotfix live adjusting these values - bringing them more in line with where we want them.

 

• SMG and Compact SMG accuracy bonus reduced from 35% to 15%.
• SMG damage reduced from 19/20/21 to 17/18/19.
• Compact SMG damage reduced from 23/24 to 21/22.
• SMG fire rate reduced from 13 to 12.
• Compact SMG fire rate reduced from 11 to 10.
• SMG, Compact SMG, and Silenced SMG damage falloff.
• Range reduced from 2400/3500/5000 to 2000/3000/4000.
• Percentage reduced from 100/80/65% to 100/70/40%.
• Rare SMG and Compact SMGs drop rates slightly reduced.

The building nerfs are the result of this sub screaming at Epic, when they wanted to implement proper matchmaking, so new players wouldn't get demolished by veterans. You reap what you sow.

Let me start off by saying that while Epic created this amazing and fun game, they also created a skill ceiling monster. At this point it's increasingly harder for new players to learn the ropes of the game, due to the ridiculous skill gap between them and experienced players. They get destroyed pretty much every game and I can imagine how demoralising it feels. And when you have players like shroud saying things like this, you know something's up.

So when Epic wanted to add skill-based matchmaking some time ago, this sub went into a frenzy, saying nonsense like "BR's should be random, it's in their nature" and because kids wanted to have a chance at running into Ninja ingame, like this is their life goal or something.

After that Epic stepped down. And the skill gap kept increasing to the point they're probably seeing a decrease of new player retention and are trying to mitigate that in the worst way possible - dumbing down of the mechanics that make this game unique and fun.

So am I saying we should separate new players from the veterans? I don't know, but I do think we should let Epic at least test it and see how it feels before they go changing core mechanics. This way new players have time to learn in peace and pros actually have a challenge, which might even make streamers more fun to watch.

And for the love of everything holy, stop with these reddit outbursts before Epic even tries something new. 99% of us know sh!t about game development so let them do their thing. If it doesn't work, they can always change it back.

Remember the trap changes?

When it dropped from 125 to 75, and then back up to 150. Remember when everyone hated the jetpack and guided missle and they eventually were removed?

If Epic isn't making drastic changes to their game, they are not taking advantage of beta testing. If they weren't changing anything, the player base would get bored and move onto the next game.

Epic is still just as involved in the community as ever and they know that the current meta is not as it should be. They just want to see how people adapt to major changes. The player base is strong and will probably not suffer much. The devs have balls to do this.

Buff the P90

This gun is very underpowered right now. I suggest a couple changes;

• Drop the P90 on the ground to use it as a launchpad
• Shoot teammates with the P90 to completely heal them
• Add a legendary scope attachment that drops from supply drops so the P90 can also be used as a sniper.
• Have a secondary fire mode; if activated the bullets morph into structures and provide immediate cover

Let me know what you think, I personally think this gun could use a little buff since it’s not game-breaking enough right now.

Design Chat: “Ghost Peeking”

Hey guys, let's talk about "Ghost Peeking".

When crouching up-hill, you can sometimes fire over cover without actually being seen by your target.

Here, I've enabled some developer debug to show what's happening:

The yellow line is a trace from the center of your camera. The green line is supposed to be the bullet trace.

So why is that happening?

Our animation system does some adjustments to the character to make sure that the feet are always positioned nicely on slopes, like this:

Unfortunately, in some cases this can sometimes lower the character mesh down far further than we intended. Oops!

In 5.10, we've included a fix for this issue so that any time you can shoot someone, they will be able to see you, and shoot you. This is what it looks like now:

Let us know if you're still seeing any issues with “Ghost Peeking”, and we'll continue to see if we can improve in this area!

As a courtesy reminder, the subreddit will go into restricted mode during Patch downtime.

Here is how it will work:

Once downtime begins around 3:45 - 4:00am EST - the sub will be entering restricted mode. Only Epic Employees and Moderators will be able to submit posts. You will still be able to comment (rules still apply)

Why?

Normally, with each patch downtime, people already spam when is it coming up, where are patch notes, etc. We are anticipating this to be exponentially increased with this patch.

Patch Notes will be posted and stickied on the front page. Any news articles and relevant information will be posted either by Epic or a moderator.

Once downtime ends, restricted mode will be TURNED OFF approximately 20-25 minutes after the servers are back up. At this time, people can freely post again.

There will be our normal patch index megathread where we will continue to consolidate all the popular news, threads, and hot topics (such as datamined skins).

A lot of us can agree that with the new meta and lack of LTMs, the game has felt more repetitive and dull this season. So I designed a rough idea for a challenge system that would accomodate players of all skill levels

One of my all time favourite games is MW2, the challenge system was so in-depth and fun it kept the game alive long after its release. So my idea is roughly based around that system.

All these challenges will scale. So they will have multiple parts. E.g. medic #1: heal a downed teammate 5 times, medic #2: heal a downed teammates 10 times etc. Etc.

weapons: Every single weapon will have its own set of challenges from the bolt-action to revolver. These challenges will be no different to daily challenges for weapons. So get X amount of kills or X amount of damage. This will encourage some variety in gameplay. The ideal reward for this is gun camos. The challenges will scale between 5 kills to 250 kills for rarer camos. If you unlock all camos for every weapon you get a new camo (or another reward to incentivise using different guns- a skin inspired by the punisher would be amazing)

Medic: This will be your bandages, med-kits and all the shields. These challenges will also be straight forward. Just drink or heal X amount of times, there could also be 'revive' challenges which requires you to heal your teammates X amount of times and/or drop these items X amount of times for teammates to heal and shield up. The rewards for these could be a first-aid backbling and a pickaxe resembling any number of a doctor's tools.

Throwables: This will cover clingers, C4, greandes and stink bombs. They can be cause X amount of damage to structures/players. Clingers could be unique and have a challenge for sticking players. The reward for this could be a green emote like juggling, except with bombs.

Tactical gear: at the minute we only have bushes, but if jetpacks or eye of the storm trackers return this could be included. E.g. survive X amount of cummulated minutes as a bush, fly up X amount of cummulated metres with the jetpack.

Vehicles: again pretty straightforward. Travel a total of X amount of metres in a shopping kart, same for the ATK. Other challenges could be freefall X amount of total metres and survive. Rewards could be items to customise carts and atks. You could also get a toy thats an RC car or paper airplane.

Explorer: this could be search X amounts of chests, parachute/travel X amount of distance, land at every POI X amount of times, find all the random artifacts scattered throughout the map. Indiana Jones skin as a reward, umbrella glider with the map of the world on it.

Builder: gather X amount of wood/brick/metal, construct X amount of wood/brick/metal structures. Jackhammer emote, maybe an upgradeable construction worker skin where through the stages he grows a beard, hard hat, safety glasses etc.

Game modes: outlive X amount of opponents in solo/duos/squads, place top 25/12 etc. In solo/duos/squads, eliminate x amount of opponents in solo, duos, squads. Rewards could be a flag pole pickaxe and you can then unlock flags to customise your flag pole. E.g. a llama, a nationality picker and a black skull and bones flag for completing all 'game mode' challenges.

For completing every single challenge there would be a secret reward set. Whenever new LTMs come out, release a set of easy challenges which allows people to earn 'participation rewards' such as flags, throwable emotes and banners. (Throwable emotes should then be included in customising vehicles.

As you can see these challenges are no more difficult than daily challenges and it would allow all skill levels to fairly grind it out. This would be exclusive to battle-pass holders and progress will carry across all seasons. Ideally this would be a lengthy grind where it would take weeks upon weeks, for even the sweats to complete everything.

There should be at least one healing item guaranteed in Supply Drops.

They're too big of a risk to be taking to open them up and find nothing but a Semi-Auto, Stink Bombs, Grenades, and Boogie Bombs. There should be at least one healing item (i.e Bandages, Med Kits, Chug Jugs, Minis, Big Shields) guaranteed in these drops in my opinion. One of their main purposes is to support players who lack health in the midgame and often times these drops are rendered useless while doing nothing but giving away locations. I don't think it's too much to ask to just have ONE healing item guaranteed in these drops.

Why did you buy the skin if you’re just going to complain about jonesy?

Triceraops and Rex are the same way, it’s apart of the series in a way. It’s supposed to represent someone with a costume on, not an actual shark.

Not every skin needs to be changed post release so that it’s to your liking. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. It’s that simple.

Summer Skirmish Week 2 - Friday Winner

Hey all,

 

We wanted to drop in with information regarding Friday's Summer Skirmish and the performance of the winner iDropz_Bodies in an effort of clarify some assumptions held by the community.

 

iDroPz_BoDiEs was unable to stream the event due to a Summer Skirmish rules requirement of a 2-minute stream delay for participants who wish to broadcast. This delay cannot be set on the console capture software and is not possible for non-Affiliates on Twitch. Following the event, he broadcasted replays of his Summer Skirmish matches.

 

Our rules do not stipulate that a participant must stream the event, as we do not wish to exclude players who were invited based on their own merit because they cannot stream - iDroPz_BoDiEs was invited to Summer Skirmish based off his performance in prior Showdown LTMs.

 

Now to address some concerns around that performance:

 

• Our internal Summer Skirmish analytics kept track of all opponents which participants eliminated. iDroPz_BoDiEs had 129 eliminations during the event and every single elimination was on a different opponent. This is not indicative of him having been intentionally fed eliminations and/or collusion with other players.

• Our analytics events also noted when players left the match prior to the bus deploying, and recorded those matches. iDroPz_BoDiEs did not join more than the specified 10 matches for the event, the narrative that he was leaving if the server wasn't full or the bus wasn't on a favorable path is false.

• Stat tracking sites are unreliable for recording historic performance, as they only update when the website requests stats for a user from the API. This makes any 'Most Eliminations in a Single Match' records on an account unlikely to be correct, as multiple matches in a time period are combined into one update. iDroPz_BoDiEs has achieved more than 20 eliminations in a match multiple times across his Fortnite career.

• In previous Showdown LTM's which followed a similar scoring format on public servers, there has been no discernible difference in final score between top performers on PC and Console platforms. During this event we saw 11 matches break the 20 elimination mark, with 8 of them on PC and 3 on Console.

• There is no evidence that would suggest to us that iDroPz_BoDiEs played the competition using a mouse and keyboard. Furthermore, we do not restrict input device for players on our platforms in an effort to promote accessibility for our entire audience.

 

We appreciate the community's concern around the integrity of the competition, but questioning the results of an individual participant without evidence unfairly tears apart at what should be a crowning moment of achievement for an individual who earned their way there and performed when it counted.

 

Our primary goal is to support competition that is fun, inclusive, and in line with the overall spirit of Fortnite. Unsportsmanlike conduct from participants is not within that spirit, and will not be tolerated in Fortnite competition.

EDIT: To address additional comments, none of the accounts which were eliminated by iDroPz_BoDiEs were created between the time he was informed of his participation and the event itself.

A crime was committed yesterday during the Saturday Skirmish. iDropz_bodies cheated his way to $130,000. Epic, do not be foolish. This is burglary. There must be a FULL-ON investigation on his matches played.

IDropz_bodies is a PS4 player who won yesterday’s Saturday Skirmish. I was happy to see a fellow PS4 player did well, but unfortunately after seeing the evidence, it’s almost inevitable there was collusion and corruption in his win and road to winning $130,000.

First, his stats:

iDropz_bodies had a 4 KD in Season 4. Before the tournament, he had a 4.5 in Season 5. It was elevated to 7+ after securing a 45 KD in Tournament matches. That is a 1000% increase as soon as the tournament started, and a quick drop back down to his normal self once the tournament was over. He dropped two 20+ kill wins in back to back matches, along with multiple matches between the 12-19 kill range. If you look at his past matches in Season 5, he has never done anything ever close to that.

Suspect Replays:

After being accused of not being the one playing his matches (having his account recovered by someone else), he quickly shut down those rumors by streaming his replays on his Twitch channel. By doing this, he didn’t know the biggest suspicion of all was about to unfold.

During the streaming of his replays. Viewers noticed there was countless players who did not shoot at him at all. Instead, these players just ran up to him and although moved around, didn’t really attempt to shoot him at all. There were even instances where players stayed in 1x1s within 5 yards of each other, yet didn’t shoot at one-another. Instead, both waited for iDropz_bodies to easily build up, and without even breaking a sweat, kill the players. There was also instances where iDrop jump padded right to where multiple no-shooting-back players were, as if he knew their location precisely. This apparently happened multiple times.

When some viewers backtracked some names of the “easy” kills iDrop got. They found out something very worrying. These players accounts were brand new, and their first games just so happened to be during iDropz tournament matches.

Viewers of the stream accounted for as high as 10 of these ultra no shooting back players during both of iDropz 20+ kill games.

But what was most suspicious of all about these players.. was what was in their inventory. When iDropz killed them, they did not have any shield he was burning through when shooting (they were 100 health 0 shield). However, in their inventory, they had minis, half pots, med kits etc.

For those who are not aware, it’s easier than you think to hop into someone’s match. The suspicion is that iDrop had players Queue up the same time as him and give him free kills so he can place higher in the tournament. This is something that has happened before in the past, and still does happen in tourneys run by CMG/GB. It has happened in the past, and for a lot less money.

Deleted “Suspended?” Twitch Account:

Right after viewers switched their accusations from him not playing the matches to him having guys create new accounts and give him kills, something strange happened. People started sharing his Twitch because the proof was supposedly blatant and consistent through his matches. As people became increasingly aware, all of a sudden his Twitch channel was deleted, and with that, all the VODs of the blatant cheating.

He claims that Twitch “suspended” his channel because of a profanity he used during one of his vods from when he use to play Destiny. Could be true, of course, yet very coincidental and beneficial that nobody can see those VODs anymore.

Irregular leaving of Matches:

iDrop was said to have left a lot of matches before the bus began dropping players, so that the match wouldn’t count towards his score in the tournament. He claimed through his stream he only left the matches because he “did not like the drop.” However, this left many to speculate after seeing the type of players he did run into when choosing to stay in a game, that he may have left those past matches in the scenarios where multiple friends didn’t get in. Constantly leaving matches because “not liking the drop” wasn’t something we saw a lot of from other streamers. Some claim they think Nickmercs did it a couple times, but that’s not confirmed. I will say that I watched Nickmercs stream, and did not personally see it happen.

Invited because of LTM win:

He was invited because he won an an LTM mode sometime back in the past. I believe it was the Showdown mode. This mode has been scrutinized, because many believed at that time that people cheated, and coincidentally, had friends join their lobbies and give them free kills.

Epic: Cause for Suspicion is true and undeniable. There is only one thing to do. There must be a full-on investigation into this players matches. I recommend looking at the replays and seeing if there really is an influx of players who did not shoot back.

Also, I’d look at the IP address of players he routinely has played with before the tourney, and the IP of the players who looked like free kills in his tournament matches, and see if any of those IPs match up.

Of course it can be hard to prove corruption if you hide your footsteps. But there are mistakes and precautions that not everyone takes. When this much money is on the line, and there is this much cause for concern, due diligence and investigating is necessary on Epics part. It will preserve the integrity of future matches, and if there is no doubt that this player cheated, legal action should be apart of it.

$130,000 is nothing to joke about.

If nothing comes of it, I’m sure many of us will have our suspicious, but we will gladly take the fact that Epic looked into something that begged itself to be looked at.

TLDR: Huge red flags with yesterday’s Saturday Skirmish and $130,000 take home winner. Investigation is necessary from Epic. If proven true, this player is robbing Epic and other competitors in the Tournament.

Western LTM

With the new desert part of the map I would love to see an old western LTM. Maybe with only hunting rifles, pump shotguns, and revolvers. I feel like this could be a great gamemode especially for the revolvers which have basically no use in the real game (to me at least).

Edit:

Drum gun and Deagle/Dual Pistols were also suggested. However I feel that the drum gun would overpower any use of pistols.

I would post this on the competitive subreddit, but devs usually browse through this subreddit and this needs the most attention it can get. Epic destroying Friday Fortnite is really sad. It was a good tournament style which was ruined when Epic stole all the player base and capped the prize money.

As it is shown in your previous attempts, you have no real solution to find a good balance between an e-sport and enjoyable content. As of today, Epic singlehanded destroyed Keemstar’s Friday Fortnite, a tournament which had some of Fortnite’s biggest names in content creators and comp players. This gained millions of unique viewers that would tune in for hours on that Friday. It also allowed third parties to try and perfect how Fortnite BR should be played competitively. Now, Epic holds their own poorly ran tournaments for absurd prize pools(instead of supporting these third parties or into servers to allow C4s and spectators) and not allow other tournaments to match that amount or surpass it. They have effectively put a monopoly on their game to be played competitively unless Epic has some sort of hand in them, which is wrong.

TLDR: Epic made a douche move and monopolized their game as an esport. If Epic prioritizes E-Sport advancement over money, they need to support these tournaments rather than cut them off and not let them flourish and allow Fortnite to grow as an e-sport.
