New headcanon: Midas and Singularity represent their respective islands, and the gods they're named for: Apollo and Athena. Apollo is the god of the sun, represented in alchemy by gold, and Athena is the godess of wisdom and battle strategy. Midas turns things to gold, and Singularity is a soldier.
