I am a teen with Asperger Syndrome (a type of high-functioning Autism) and a struggling social life, and these new challenges are hell to me.

Recently, I have been struggling with my social life, as I have an addiction to electronics and stress issues, especially when it comes to large workloads and social skills. Fortnite is the only video game I am allowed to play on weekdays, so naturally I play it a lot. As a somewhat lower-skilled player who mainly plays Team Rumble no-fill, I have had little issues finishing challenges. That is, until now.

Forced squads, forced duos, forced to play with not just friends, but somewhat-skilled friends as well (I mean, 5 kill assists in a single match!?!?). As a person struggling with my social life, this is hell to me. I’m currently hard at grinding for max Catalyst and tier 100, and right now it feels like EPIC has thrown the mother of all wrenches into my plans. Even worse, I have to do it all before the season ends, unlike previous seasons where I could complete these challenges at my own pace!! Does EPIC even realize that there are people who honest-to-god HATE this stuff!?!?

And it’s not just me. Look around this sub. These challenges are the number one issue right now (aside from maybe the rift zone gimmicks and the big bois). Sure, this could be seen as a somewhat positive way to deal with video game addiction by forcing people to make friends, but something like this!?!? Take the friend stuff out of it, and you still have the ultimate grindy-grind-fest! I feel like I’m going to have to give up my Subnautica and Terraria playthroughs just to get max Catalyst! And the worst part is that’s what EPIC wants! To spend more time on their game! But who gains!?!? Is it just EPIC’s lust for money that has lead them to completely ignore us who struggle with a social life!?!? Nobody wants this!!!

So, EPIC, I speak on behalf of the community when I say that these challenges are the scourge of the universe, especially for people with Autism who struggle to find a social life. I don’t care about any other changes that may need to happen right now. All I care is that you take a serious reconsideration of these horrible, god-awful challenges. Nobody likes them. NOBODY.
