Fortnite dads: My ex tells our son he has to limit his playtime with fortnite and take frequent screen breaks. During those screen breaks she lets him watch YouTube videos of other people playing fortnite on a television.

First of all, I would argue that is not a screen break.

Secondly, when I say that she limits his playtime, she lets him play maybe a game or two but then let some spend 5 hours watching garbage youtube content.

I could be very wrong about this but I believe that playing fortnite is way better for his development then watching YouTube videos especially of people playing fortnite. I look at fortnite as a game that requires problem solving, resiliency, learning to lose and fail but then try again anyway. We learn strategy and process and structure, maybe not all of us ha but most of us the ones that take it seriously and he sure does.

EDIT - I am not arguing about OTHER activities he could be doing that would be best for his development, only comparing these two things (youtube/tv for 5 hours vs playing fortnite).

Just wondering what other dads think about this.

Since we got other invincible skins, it’d be fun to play as the GDA guys since they look cool and actually use guns
