Forced crossplay is gaslighting console players. It's not a fair fight.

I'm done. I just finished a 12 hour shift and tried to hop on my Series X for some Reload, only to be treated like a practice target for an FNCS qualifier. I'm running 120 FPS, and it's still not enough.

The hardware gap is a literal death sentence for consoles

I'm forced to play with "beautiful" shadows and foliage. To me, I'm hidden to a PC player on Performance Mode, I'm standing in a flat, empty field. They see through bushes that haven't even rendered for them. It's essentially a legal wall hack.

Xbox has system level VSync we can't disable. Even at 120 FPS, there's a baked in delay. I've lost the wall take or the edit before the signal even hits my screen.

Epic knows console players are the majority. They force us into these shark tanks just to keep PC queue times low. We are literally "content" for PC sweats so they don't have to wait 20 minutes for a match.

I tried turning crossplay off. You know what happened? I'm blocked from Reload and Squads, and stuck in a 15 minute Solo queue that's 80% AI bots. Stop telling us SBMM "balances" the platforms. Bring back Console Only Crossplay (Xbox + PS) and let the PC players play in their own world.

Since operating FN is costly, Epic should lower the amount of vbucks we get and also raise the price of them. They should also give less vbucks and stuff in the BP and make it cost more same with the Fornite Crew. Hopefully they can keep the servers going doing that.

This would help them keep the 10k creative clone maps coming and also the modes nobody asked for but that we like seeing in the discover tab. Maybe they should also raise the item shop items costs like the pets to 2k vbucks and the music to 1k each. Just throwing ideas out there trying to help them out.

How is everyone complaining about the V-Bucks price, but not about the Battle Pass V-Bucks? In my opinion, that’s the worst part of the change

I don’t know, but maybe some of you don’t know this. Starting next season, the Battle Pass will only give 800 V-Bucks instead of the usual 1500. In my opinion, that’s a million times worse than the V-Bucks price increase.

C7S2 will "make-or-break" Fortnite for a LOT of people.

As the title implies, I feel like next season will be the tipping point for many.

I really hate to say this, but I don't think there's been a "definitively, undivisively good" season since C6S1 (possibly excluding Simpsons). Of course that take is totally subjective, and naturally, every season will have its lovers and haters, but it feels like we haven't had a season in awhile where the game was unquestionably doing well.

Problems with Recent Seasons:

New Season Map Updates have been Generally Lackluster:

Throughout basically all of Chapter 6, the new seasonal POI additions felt REALLY bad. Typically, Epic would throw in around 3ish new POIs onto the map, where absolutely everyone and their mama would land for the next month, while leaving the rest of the map completely untouched. Even though a few of the POIs were neat, this is just a really lame content model. Most of the lower skill players wouldn't even get to experience the new content anyway since they'd just die on-sight at these new POIs and be forced to land elsewhere.

Not to mention just adding, deleting and replacing certain POIs make the map an uncohesive mess. Think back to what the C6S4 map looked like at the end - it was a nasty, bloated disaster where a bunch of "themes" collided to form something that really had no identity.

I feel like Chapter 5 was a lot better in this regard, since every season altered larger parts/more areas of the map at once (instead of relegating changes to 2-3 POIs in one corner of the map). Look at how the Chapter 5 map changed from season to season in comparison to the Chapter 6 map - it's night and day. Granted, having medallions at all these new POIs certainly didn't help with the "everyone dropping at only 3 places" issue, but atleast the new areas were expansive enough that you could actually explore new areas of the map without hotdropping into some hellscape. Also (and this is totally subjective), I think many of the C5 POIs were far more interesting than many of the newer POIs. Nitrodrome and Redline Rig might be up there as some of the best POIs of all time, just from a navigation and gameplay perspective (aesthetics were cool too tbh), but most (albeit, not all) of the new POIs in C6 and C7 just feel like slightly altered versions of places we've already been to.

Chapter 7 Season 1 is Stale:

The one place I'll give Epic credit for in the past is the lootpool. Not that it's been perfect, but many seasons in recent memory did introduce a lot of fun new weapons and items into the pool, even if not all of them were a win: Wind/Water sprites of C6S1, Holo-Twister, Void Oni Mask, Oni Shotgun, Wrecker Revolver, the plethora of fun superpower-esk items that were in C6S3.

Weirdly, the one place the lootpool has been lacking is in the current season. Certain additions are fun, like the Twin Hammer and the Flex SMG, but the rest just range from meh to boring - there's nothing that remotely changes how you actually play the game.

Chapter 7 Season 1, in a vacuum, is not a bad season. When it first came out, many people (including myself) were praising it for how fun it was with the refreshed lootpool and smaller map size, but as time went on and the novelty wore off, we realized there wasn't too much to enjoy beyond that. The lootpool is now stale, the POIs, while not the worst from a gameplay perspective, are thematically and aesthetically AI-generated nothing burgers (quite literally in some instances), and to top off the perfect boredom sundae, its been one of the longest running seasons in the game's history.

The Greed that Might Break the Camel's Back:

Epic, after a rocky start to C7, is demanding more of us and our wallets to help "pay the bills". This might be an unpopular opinion, but the V-Buck price raising isn't the real issue. Epic is probably TURBO mismanaging money if finances are an issue for them, but that's a different discussion. The real issue is that Epic has not even remotely earned the trust of its community to be in a position to ask for more. If Epic is raising expectations for us and our wallets, that's fine, but now our expectations for Epic should be raised as well.

I cannot stress this enough: Chapter 7 Season 2 literally *MUST* be a borderline perfect season to win back the trust of the people. The lootpool must be fun and innovative, the new additions to the map (or potentially new map?) must consist of unique, creatively-designed POIs that are fun to navigate and fight in. As an added bonus, how about we actually start making the lore interesting again? It feels like the pieces for a good story are here, but nobody really seems invested in it. With how much many of the developers have been hyping it up, I'm optimistic, but also a little scared. I love this game and I would love nothing more than for it to succeed, but the dwindling player count really speaks volumes and it feels like Epic needs to pull off a miracle which I'm not sure they've got in them.

Finally deleted Fortnite (for now)

After 8 years I finally deleted Fortnite. I’ve got over 600 skins and thousands of hours played. This game is totally unplayable and has become complete slop.

Price increases, terrible servers, matches filled with nothing but streamers and tiktokers on pc, cheaters, no content updates, bland map and trash lootpool, ai slop filling discovery tab, and the constant stream of collabs no one asked for.

I remember when this game was fresh and fun and I was excited for the next season to release. Players have always been sweaty but it’s just gotten way out of hand especially for public lobbies. This game doesn’t care about its player base and im honestly over it.

More storage for me to download other games i guess 🤷‍♂️

I've been able to go along with every terrible change, but this just broke the camels back. I stuck through the terrible UI changes, the changes to the emote wheel that nobody asked for, the one-time customization for sidekicks, the pricing on kicks, bundles, and skins that don't come with backblings or anything extra and all of the countless times Epic ignored the backlash and displeasure of their playerbase. This change they're making to the amount of v-bucks you get in EVERY MANNER is what's breaking the camels back. I've been willing to say "Hey, they gotta make their money somehow. Even if some of it seems sleazy." But now it's gone overboard and both me and my girlfriend have already canceled our crew subscriptions. I don't plan on getting the new battlepass or any of the passes either. The thing is, I know me and my girlfriend are far from the only ones with this mentality at this point and this may well be the end of Fortnite. I at least foresee the game suffering the amount of losses that you do not come back from. I already play the game much less as-is due to the bugs that go unfixed and the lack of compelling gameplay content as gameplay is shunned in the name of collabs.

Edit: To the people saying to play without paying, that's what I've already intended to do. However, if this many people play without paying, the game is still going to crash and starve. It's a free to play game that lives off of microtransactions. It's like when Disney recently canceled Jimmy Kimmel and a whole bunch of people boycotted by canceling their Disney subscription as well as their trips to Disney. Disney saw how that worked out for them. They immediately gave Jimmy his show back due to how bad the losses were.The thing is, once a company loses this many consumers and/or their money to this extent, it can be very hard for the company to turn around and make a comeback. The reason is that they already pissed their consumers/playerbase off to the point that they've already given up on the company and no longer want to associate with the company after what the company tried to pull. This is why I said RIP to Fortnite and that I fear it'll suffer losses that it won't fully come back from. I'll be playing without paying, though some aren't even doing that and I don't blame them.

All my IRL friends are quitting this season.

I don’t even know where to start. What started as a fun new chapter, has quickly turned into a season with nothing but collabs to keep us checking the item shop daily (only for that also be a disappointment). We then shifted to only playing creative maps, but even those got stale. Normally around this time is when we wait for the next season to play again, but they aren’t even excited for it. One of them said they’d check it out, but if it doesn’t hit then they won’t play that season. It’s sad because the one game that always brought us together, no longer does that.
