Hello r/FortNiteBR,

A week ago we introduced a myriad of changes to the rules. There has certainly been more variety on the subreddit since then, and while we feel that the changes have been positive overall, we want to hear from the community.

We've gotten some initial feedback, both positive and negative, but we wanted to provide a space specifically for that. We want to find a balance that works, and we want your help. Let us know what you like about the new rules, what you dislike, if there is anything we should add/remove/change, etc.

Feedback in this thread will help us determine the best course of action going forward.

New Bricks Distribution (Round 18 Proposal)

Bricks are r/FortNiteBR's version of Community Points. Community Points are a way for users to be rewarded for their contributions to the subreddit, and they can be used on premium features in the community.

Bricks are distributed every 4 weeks based on contributions people make to r/FortNiteBR. For every distribution, Reddit publishes karma data as a default measure of contribution. The community can review the data and optionally propose an alternative distribution, if they wish.

This distribution is based on karma earned from 2021-09-01 to 2021-09-28. Here is the data.

To propose an alternative distribution:

• You can create a CSV with alternative contribution scores or propose changes to the algorithm used to calculate them from karma (as long as the changes can be implemented easily).
• The amount of Bricks distributed to a user will be proportional to their contribution score. Contribution scores cannot be negative.
• Make a poll to have the community vote on your proposal. Include an accurate description of the changes you are proposing.
• In order to pass, the winning option in the poll must meet the decision threshold (minimum number of Bricks in support). If it is in favor of the change, it becomes the official contribution measurement (unless there is evidence of abuse in the vote, such as bribery). Algorithm changes will carry forward to future distributions.
• In case of multiple competing polls passing, the one with the most Bricks cast in favor will be the official one.
• If no alternative passes, the data provided here will become official.

The contribution scores for this round will be finalized on 2021-10-06. Any poll proposing an alternative needs to be completed by then.

After the scores are finalized, Reddit will sign the data and publish the final, official data. After that, people with a registered Vault will receive Bricks directly into their Vault. Other users will receive their Bricks when they create and register a Vault.

THE CONTEST

So How will this work?:

The contest will run simultaneously on the Subreddit and Discord server in two phases. Announcements regarding the contest will be made on both platforms.

Phase One: Nominations

• Nominations will be open for 2 weeks, ending on the 16^th October 2021 @ 2am EST.
• The thread will be run in Contest Mode, so submit your entries as comments on the stickied comment.
• Please upvote the entries you like and would love to see on the subreddit / Discord icon.
• Please scroll as far down as you can so that you see every entry.
• Please keep parent-level comments to entries, other off-topic comments will be removed.

Phase Two: Voting

After the entries are from nominations are compiled and shortlisted, you will need to vote for your favorites on the relevant platform. (Even if you submitted your entry for Discord via Reddit.)

Reddit:

Entries will be shortlisted by the moderating team and placed in a pinned post on the subreddit in contest mode for voting. The post will be locked, however, there will be an additional discussion thread linked in the pinned post.

Discord:

Dedicated voting and discussion channels will be created for the duration of voting. You must react to your preferred entry using the specified reactions. Reactions outside of those specified will not be counted.

Prizes:

Naturally, it wouldn't be a contest without prizes, would it?

v18.10: Release Timing

r/FortNiteBR,

Bring the heat! 🌶

The v18.10 update is scheduled for release on September 28. Downtime will begin at approx. 04:00 AM ET, with matchmaking being disabled approx. 30 minutes before.

Notes:

• The patch size will be larger than normal on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
• This patch includes the improvements to XP that we discussed previously. More details to come in our v18.10 blog post tomorrow.

I really love Fortnite.

Just wanted to say that despite all the negativity and people complaining about this game, I really like it right now. I suck at building but who cares. I’ve only been playing about a year. I’m 45. It’s something fun that my sons and I can do. I have a few friends my age who play as well and it’s a great option to connect socially with them. I know I won’t love it forever, but right now it’s just what I need.

The Great Rule Rewrite of 2021 | Rule Changes and New Weekly Topic Threads

Hello everyone,

Some months ago the Moderation Team began discussing and debating the guidelines used for moderating content submitted to the subreddit. Our end goal was to make it easier to submit content, by making the rules simpler and clearer to understand. These new guidelines have already gone into effect. They will be listed below for convenience, but you will also find them listed in their usual place.

We'd love to hear feedback from the community regarding these changes. Let us know what you like/dislike, or if there are even some things you would like us to refine even further.

We do ask that you please bear with us while we adjust to this change. We have moderated using the old rules for so long, that we may make mistakes here and there, but we will do our best to rectify them as quickly as possible.

With that, here are the new Guidelines and Policies:

Guidelines

Content Guidelines

• All posts must have a clear point, and not contain inauthentic or misleading information
• No insults, hate speech, political, or religious content
• No "not safe for work" content in posts or usernames
• No cheats, exploits, or content that breaks Fortnite's Terms of Service
• No karma farming, petitions, surveys, or other types of spam content
• Buying, selling, trading, or begging is not allowed anywhere on the subreddit
• Account support posts will be removed – You can contact Fortnite's Player Support at fortnite.com/help
• All content must be in English

Link Guidelines

• Links to tweets must be from verified / blue tick accounts only
• No links to YouTube or other video hosting websites

Relevancy Guidelines

• Posts must clearly focus on Battle Royale, even if including non-Fortnite audio, images, or video (a frame's worth of BR content at the end does not suffice)
• All Save The World content belongs on r/Fortnite
• Creative Mode gameplay, suggestions, bugs, and island showcases belong on r/FortniteCreative
• Bug reports and suggestions that are specific to Android, Switch, or iOS belong on r/FortniteMobile

Media Guidelines

• No edits to images or templates created by others, you have to do the work yourself!
• Meme templates need to be recreated in Fortnite, drawn using Fortnite characters, or otherwise use Fortnite assets
• No low resolution or externally captured media, with exceptions for bugs that cannot be captured directly
• No screenshots of match results or player statistics
• Images that consist primarily of text must be written in a text post
• Gallery posts are required for multiple images, with any "references" allowed as the final slide
• No screenshots of YouTube thumbnails, tweets, or other social media

Title Guidelines

• Titles must be tone neutral, non-offensive and tasteful, and clearly related to the post
• Credit original creators in the title for posts containing content you do not own, eg. cosplay, artwork, stream clips, etc.
• Audio warnings are required in the title if your video contains any type of loud volume, sound distortion, or bass boost
• Do not reveal spoilers in the post title
• Do not use ALL CAPS, aLt CApS, single worded, or entirely emoji titles

Advertisement and Giveaway Guidelines

• No advertisement of other subreddits, websites, servers, or apps
• No "Check out my stream / channel" or "Use my Support-A-Creator code" posts
• No links to YouTube or similar websites where you can add adverts
• Giveaways must be approved by the moderation team ahead of time by messaging r/FortniteBR directly

Watermark Guidelines

• You can put a single copy of your Support-A-Creator code on content you own
• You can also include the username of your Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, Facebook, or YouTube accounts
• You can't add multiple of the same social media details on your image or in your video
• You can't ask people to upvote, subscribe, or use your Support-A-Creator code

Frequently Posted Topics

• Your post will be removed if there is content similar to it in the first four pages of "New" or "Hot"
• Approaching a currently popular topic from a new angle is allowed
• Epic and Moderator threads always take priority
• Use our LFG posts to find people to play with

Policies

Verified Contributors Self-Promotion Policy

Some users provide a consistent, free, and requested service to r/FortniteBR, and are pre-approved to post their personal websites. They are not allowed to advertise any merchandise. They are to adhere to the Advertisement/Giveaway/Watermark Guidelines, and are approved submitters who take priority over regular users.

Stolen Content Claim Policy

Posts containing content you do not own (cosplay, art, video, template, etc.) must follow the credit attribution requirements in Title Guidelines.

If you are a content creator, artist, or similar, and your content has been posted without your permission, you are free to make a case to the moderation team for its removal. Please keep in mind that we will need evidence, and our decision will be made as a team as fast as we reasonably and accurately can.

Rule Evasion Punishment Policy

Reposting content that has been removed by moderators in an attempt to bypass a filter or moderator action is strictly prohibited and can result in a ban from the subreddit. REGARDING LEAKS AND DATA MINED CONTENT

As you have seen above, leaks and data mined content must now be posted in the Trawl Tuesday thread. We had a lot of feedback about leaks being posted, and users not wishing to see that type of content. We think this is a good compromise.

We will be monitoring the impact of these changes over the next several weeks, and will make adjustments where needed.

Hello r/FortNiteBR! It has been quite some time since we've posted one of these. We wanted to inform everyone of some current (and some upcoming) changes and happenings around the subreddit! Let's get started.

New Rules

We have recently finished discussing and debating every single line in the subreddit rules and guidelines. Our overall goal was to make it easier to submit content in this community. There were also changes to the Weekly Topics, including the removal of Throwback Thursday and Suggestion Saturday. This is a huge makeover, and we hope that you all will like it. Please bear with us as we all adjust to the new guidelines, after so long with the old rules we may make mistakes, but we will do our best to rectify them as quickly as possible. Upcoming Snoo Contest

Next week, we will be bringing back a community favorite...the Snoo contest! Members of the community can submit their take on a Reddit Snoo that they feel best represents the community, or Fortnite in general. This time however, we are joining forces with our Discord server! You can submit up to two designs (one for Reddit and one for Discord, or one for both). Voting on the subreddit and in the Discord server will determine the next Snoo! We can't wait to see what you all come up with. We will begin accepting entries next week. Details of the contest will also be available at that time, keep an eye out for an announcement!

Cube Tracking Megathread

This thread will be updated as new discoveries of the cube are made.

Brief Overview

Hey all! After observing the hype around the reappearance of Kevin and the other cubes, we have decided to create a Megathread to talk about and discuss The Cubes. At the start of this new season, three wild cubes have appeared on the map: Kevin, the Blue cube and the Gold cube.

Cube Mechanics and what they are:

THE PURPLE CUBE (KEVIN)

We already know who Kevin is, however, this Kevin is a bit different than the “original one” from Chapter 1 Season 5. For starters, there are multiple purple cubes around the map.

Purple cubes are marked with white \"X\"

Unlike the cube from Chapter 1, these do not deal damage if you shoot at them and do not regenerate health/shields, but it will still act as a bounce pad.

THE BLUE CUBE

Here’s what we know about the Blue Cube:

• It’s located on the map here;
• It will give you 20 HP Shield every time you touch it;
• It will not deal damage if you shoot at it;
• It also acts as a bouncepad, similar to Kevin.

THE GOLD CUBE

Not much is known about the Gold Cube, except that it acts like a bouncepad, similar to the other cubes, and that it is constantly moving around the map.

Mathematically Proving That XP This Season Is Worse Than We Think (You Might Need to Play 6 Days a Week to Get to Level 200)

TLDR AT THE BOTTOM>

This season has a duration of 11 weeks and 6 days. But for the sake of argument and ease of explanation, we will round it out to 12 weeks.

This season you can earn XP through Punch cards, you have your Daily Punchcard, your Weekly Punchcard, and your NPC Punchcards. In theory, this should work great, but it couldn't be farther from the truth.

I know everyone has complained about the XP this season, but I am about to prove that it's actually much worse than we thought.

How much XP can you earn from Punchcards?

Everyday, you can earn 51,000 XP for completing your Daily Punchcard, in a week, this equals 357,000 XP. After 12 weeks, this equals 4,284,000 XP.

Every week, you can earn 195,000 XP for completing your Weekly Punchcard. After 12 weeks, this equals 2,340,000 XP.

We have currently been given 15 NPC Punchcards to fill. We are expected to receive a total of 39 this season (as reported by prominent leakers). After 12 weeks, this equals 3,120,000 XP.

This means we can get a total of 9,744,000 XP this season just from completing challenges. That XP amount is enough to get you to level 136.

However, some of you may say that this is impossible since you only play solo, and cannot complete Weekly Punchcard challenges such as playing with friends. Let's take out the Weekly Punchcard XP from out current total. This means you can get a total of 7,404,000 XP this season. That's enough to get you to level 95.

AFK Creative XP

Now, as with previous season, we have to be aware that a lot of the player base takes full advantage of AFK creative mode. Users even did this last season even though the XP gains were great, so let's check that out as well. You can earn 125,000 XP every day through this method. Every week, this ends up being 875,000 XP, and after 12 weeks this equals 10,500,000 XP.

Literally ONLY doing creative XP gets you to level 148 alone. Add this amount on top of the largest possible total, that's 20,244,000. This gets you to level 271. Assuming you don't play with others and can't finish your Weekly Punchcard, the max amount of XP you can earn is 17,904,000 XP. This gets you to level 247.

"So what gives? Those XP amounts are great!"

They're great, if you play every single day. However, like a grand amount of Fortnite's playerbase, we either have school, work, chores, tasks, and a million other things to do.

Now let's look at these XP amounts in practice. Although in theory they sound great, just how much time we would actually need to play this season to reach your goals?

"How much do I need to play to get to level 100?"

I get it, we can't all play every day. So let's do the math, if your goal is just to complete the BP this season, you will need 7,780,000 XP. Assuming you play with others and complete your Weekly Punchcards and work on NPC Punchcards when you are online, we can subtract those amounts from our total. This means you now need to get 2,320,000 XP throughout the season. This means you need to play 14 days out of the season. 14 days where you complete your Daily Punchcard, and also fill your AFK Creative XP. For reference, the season lasts 83 days.

So statistically, you could play a day or two every week and you would unlock everything up to level 100!

"What if I can't complete Weekly Punchcards since I don't play with others?"

Now, if you don't play with others and by default are unable to finish Weekly Punchcards, let's figure it out. We still need 7,780,000 XP to get you to level 100, so let's subtract the NPC Punchcard amount, This means you now need to earn 4,660,000 XP. That equals playing a total of 27 days out of the season. 27 days of completing your Daily Punchcards and also doing the AFK Creative XP.

Realistically this means you would have to play 2-3 days a week to unlock everything up to level 100.

"How much do I need to play to get to level 200 and unlock all the BP styles?"

The question we have all been waiting for. Let's figure it out. Getting to level 200 will cost us 13,951,250 XP. Assuming we play with others to accomplish our Weekly Punchcards and finish our NPC Punchcards, this means we would need to gain an extra 8,491,250 XP. This means we would need to play 49 days out of this season, a bit over half of the 83 days it will last. Of course, this is 49 days of finishing Daily Punchcards, and doing AFK Creative XP.

This means you would need to play a minimum of 4 days every single week to get to level 200.

"And what if I can't complete Weekly Punchcards since I don't play with others?"

The hardest grind yet. If you don't play with others and by default are unable to finish Weekly Punchcards, let's figure it out. We still need 13,951,250 XP to get you to level 200, so let's subtract the NPC Punchcard amount, This means you now need to earn 10,831,250 XP. This implies you need to play a wopping 62 days out of the 83 days this season lasts. And of course, this is 62 days of doing Daily Punchcards and doing AFK Creative XP.

This means you need to play between 5-6 days every single week to get to level 200.

TLDR FOR USERS

- Want to get to level 100 and play with friends? Play twice a week, do all the Punchcards that you can, and do AFK Creative XP on those days and you'll get there easily! GG, you can do it!

- Want to get to level 100 and play by yourself? Play three times a week, do all the Punchcards that you can, and do AFK Creative XP on those days and you'll get there easily! A challenge that you can overcome!

- Want to get to level 200 and play with friends? Play minimum four times a week, do all the Punchcards that you can, and do AFK Creative XP on those days, it will be a struggle but you'll make it! It will dedication, but I trust you!

- Want to get to level 200 and play by yourself? Play six times a week, do all the Punchcards that you can, and do AFK Creative XP on those days, it will be an uphill battle but you'll make it! I pray for your soul.

- IT IS MATHEMATICALLY IMPROBABLE TO GET TO LEVEL 200 THIS SEASON FROM ONLY DOING CHALLENGES EVEN IF YOU PLAY EVERY DAY. YOU WILL NEED TO EARN MORE THAN 4,207,250 ADDITIONAL XP BY PLAYING MATCHES, DOING AFK CREATIVE, OR PLAYING IMPOSTERS GAMEMODE TO GET TO LEVEL 200.

A TLDR FOR EPIC

- The community complaints aren't just an outcry or wining because previous seasons had great XP. They are clearly valid and justified by the math above.

- You gave players an avenue to earn more XP (Imposters mode), and now you cut the XP earnings by 50%, why? If the point is to get players to get interested in BR again, up the XP gains where they aren't forcing players to play 6 days a week to have a chance of making it to the max reward levels you set.

- I know XP in previous seasons was outrageous, but compensating that by punishing your playerbase with this dismal XP system is just shameful.

Guns in fortnite are ruining the game.

I was playing pubs today and i got killed by an AR (assault rifle) and it did a lot of damage to me and killed me. Seriously epic? And then i joined another game and i got killed my an smg (sub machine gun) and its literally an AR but smaller and faster and OPer. Epic should just remove guns from the game they are too op and i always die to them in fortnite battle royale. Im going to quit until they are removed because this is ridiculous. Please remove pickaxes as well. I got killed by someone with a pickaxe and it literally 20 dmg of my health. Why the fuck is it that OP epic? Fix your stupid fucking game, god.

PC players need to be removed from crossplay.

It's just not even fair at this point. I have been playing since season 1 and have missed a few season here and there but I have played for a while. I enjoyed when people would build bases at the start, I enjoyed when everyone was just cranking 90s with minimal editing, it is just unplayable now, a PC player with build a wall edit it and have pumped you for 180 then fix the wall before you can even recognize that a wall has been placed.

How many of the top players play on console/controller, bugger all if any.

Remove PC players from the equation and make a cross play mode for the people who want it, there is enough people on console to fill lobbies. Most people would rather wait a few minutes for a game to even have a chance at winning.

I thought crossplay was going to be an optional thing not something you HAVE to use

The only people who will defend this are the PC players who know that they are only "good" because they dunk on switch players lmao

Anyone else feeling really burnt out?

This season was so dissapointing to me. The event hyped up the new season so much and it's just the same thing, same map. I can't even play solo without getting destroyed instantly. It sucks because I love this battle pass way more than last season but the game isn't fun to play anymore for me.

At last, 525 rainbow inks, enough to purchase every style. Also, i did this entirely by searching chests in Solo, have never popped a cosmic chests so i can say with confidence there is no limit to how many inks you can get from normal chests. So get out there and open these chests.

The way you earn xp this season is awful

I don't know who at Epic thought that redesigning challenges and xp once again was a good idea, but this has to be the worst version yet. It's been only a few days, but there's already so many obvious issues:

1) After you complete the available quests there's absolutely no way to earn significant xp because they decided to remove milestones. Those used to always give something to grind towards, now you're basically just waiting for them to add more shit to do.

2) Needing to land and "accept" the challenges is a unnecessary step and just wastes everyone's time.

3) if you accept a challenge in TR the challenges can still be done in other modes, but you will not see them. So the game asks you to remember the challenges if you happen to want to switch game modes. I hope it's just a bug.

4) The new dailies are awful

5) You need too much xp per level.

And these are only the one's I came up with in 5 min, there's probably more I forgot. I know there's 0 chance they change how everything works mid season, but I hope they revert this nonsense next time..

Does anyone get FPS drops while playing? My friends and I started getting this since the beginning of Season 7 Chapter 2 and it never got fixed or maybe noticed, my friends play on xbox and PC and still experiencing this issue almost every game the FPS suddenly drops for 10-15 seconds.

To All the Tryhards....

I applaud your dedication to the game. I applaud your coordination and envy your skill level. Fortnite is not an easy game and it definitely takes a lot of hard work to get to the point where you can crank 5 story 90's and do a double edit one pump to the players below.

But Fortnite is not a game for just the tryhards. It's a game many of us use to escape our 50 hour work weeks. It's a game many of us want to play casually. When you go into tryhard mode in a pub you are proving absolutely nothing. Well - maybe you prove that you can't cut it in arena and you'd rather just come into pubs and pick on the less skilled.

Maybe I'll take a lesson from your book and come to the school playground and swat every one of your shots and dunk all over you. Then I'll taunt you and brag about how awesome I am because I beat someone so severely overmatched.

I don't place all of the blame on you. Epic has produced a highly addicting game with the worst matchmaking system I've ever seen in any game.

We all play this game for different reasons and like I said before - there is absolutely nothing wrong with be cracked at this game. Good for you. But maybe, just maybe - you adjust game play based on the game mode you are playing. The same way i wouldn't go balls to the wall against kids just learning to play a sport. Sure, i don't believe in letting people win but i also believe there is way to encourage competition without being a bully or without letting someone win.

Before anyone says - "why don't you work on getting better?". Well, Fortnite isn't life. It's an escape from life. I work a full time job, I'm a full time parent to a cracked Fortnite player (one that doesn't need to flex on pubs to look good), and I'm training for a marathon. I just want Fortnite to be fun, less toxic, and a fair fight. Arena is there for a reason. Go flex over there. Join is in pubs but play in a way that pubs are meant to be played.

Edit.... *I can't reply to all of the posts that disagree with me or think I'm a princess (I'm not really sure that's an insult anyway. What's wrong with being a princess?) for being annoyed with the Tryhard mentality. But those that disagree with me - you do make some valid points and i appreciate your opinions. My opinion certainly isn't the only that matters and who am I to say how you should play. And yes, if i am being fully transparent - i was intentionally poking the bear a little bit.

Do what makes you happy, at the end of the day it's just a game. A game that we all enjoy playing - even if I am getting pwnd by a superior talent. :). Anyway, thanks for reading - I'm gonna go get my ass kicked again! Good night!
