I know this has been said plenty of times on here and on other platforms so I'm not any original for bringing this up. But I feel like this year's Fortnitemares is so disappointing. Which is quite sad considering that Halloween and Christmas used to be the best times of the year to play Fortnite.
I know there's still over a week left, but I don't think it's getting any better from here on. The leaked skins are anything but spooky or halloween-y. The featured skin of the event was Ash Williams, which is cool, but I feel like there was a huge wasted opportunity to add in some other slasher film collabs or skins to existing sets like The Walking Dead or the S.T.A.R.S Team.
And judging by the leaks, there's only room for one more secret skin, which still wouldn't compensate the bad quality and amount of the skins released during this year's Fortnitemares, even if it were any good.
The spotlight of the event was the mythical claws item, and it got removed indefinitely. The pumpkin luncher just isn't cutting it as a "Fortnitemares gameplay update".
The map barely got any changes besides some decoration here and there and the POI that replaced Shifty. And the challenges reward chrome stuff that doesn't tie to the spooky season at all.
Back in the day we would get entire cosmetic sets related to Halloween, a revamp of the lootpool, significant map changes and LTMs (LTMs! When was the last time we got something that wasn't solid gold). What ever happened to that? Ever since Chapter 3 started events have been so lsckluster that I wouldn't even dare call them that way. The same stuff happened in the summer with the "summer event".
I think we deserve better as a community, it's not like they can't do better taking a look to the past, when they had even less resources and the game wasn't as developed as it is nowadays.
Just wanted to give my two cents. You are welcome to disagree but these are my feelings.
