PLEASE do not buy Sidekicks

I know they're cute. I know they're fun. I know we have all been looking forward to them.

But the greed on display is disgusting and should not be rewarded.

For those who don't know: all base customizations (skin tone, fur colors, eye colors, ears, body size, etc) are permanent, and if you ever want to change these you need to buy the sidekick AGAIN.

Also: sidekicks are only visible to you and your teammates

at the current price point there's absolutely no reason why these STYLES need to be hidden behind an additional paywall. If we're expected to pay $15-$20 for a virtual pet the least we should be able to do is customize them however we want, match them with our presets, etc. This is entirely possible, but due to greed and corporate overreach this ability has been restricted.

The only way to send a message that this is NOT OK with us is to AVOID BUYING SIDEKICKS.

Vote with your money. In the past this has worked. Car prices were cut in half due to backlash. If enough of us are vocal they WILL LISTEN.

Why do I care so much about this? Why not just not buy the sidekicks and shut up about it? Because if we let this go unchecked it will ONLY GET WORSE. Epic always tries to implement predatory pricing or practices like reducing xp gains, and every time we've had to fight back to stop it.

This is our next battle, guys. Please do not buy Sidekicks.
