If I had known that the weekly challenges would expire at the end of the week instead of just letting you do them until the end of the season, then I wouldn't have bought the battle pass to begin with.
After you buy your first battle pass and get enough v-bucks to buy the next one from the said battle pass, the decision to buy the next one really just comes down to if you care about the cosmetics that season and perhaps most importantly if you're willing to spend the many hours of commitment to get those cosmetics.
Seeing how they removed supercharged XP, nerfed challenge XP, and removed the ability to do challenges after the week they were added, makes it clear that this decision was a deliberate one from the higher-ups intended to increase player retention. Looking back to the previous season, Epic was actually very generous with trying to mitigate FOMO thanks to the inclusion of the above. Now they're just like every other live-service game that tries to exploit FOMO tactics to get people to play when they don't really want to.
Now instead of going through the battle pass normally like last season, now I just want to get all of the DOOM-related cosmetics in the standard battle pass and just stop playing and hope that they'll revert these changes next season. I already have enough V-bucks to afford the next battle pass. So if the game doesn't want to respect my time, then why should I respect its time?
