Honestly I will never understand why they changed the battle pass to let you “choose your own path” when it’s still set up in a way to where you have to buy certain things to get other things . I understand the part where you have to unlock a whole page before you get unlock the character on that page . I can even understand where I have to unlock x amount of items to unlock a certain page.
However some things are just unnecessary. For example, why do I have to unlocked The Imagined just to get Tsuki Iridium because I also have to get Imagines style with the visor just to finish the page. If I already own Tsuki why not let me get her style once I get to the page? That means I have to complete a whole other page before completing that one. There’s plenty of examples of skins and styles being locked behind others for no reason. The only 2 you can get without completing a previous page are Gunnar and Kiara and Gunnar is only like that because Tsuki is tier 1.
Another example is Origin’s Built In Emote. Once you get to the page you have to had unlocked like 85 items to get the emote but like why? I’m already at the page and he’s not even the main skin on the page (Erisa’s second style is) so why can’t I just get it once I get to the page?
Finally, the bonus rewards are the worst offender. Why do these pages even have skins that you have to unlock last? It’s so weird especially because half the time it’s not even the best one on that page . So even after you dedicated time to finishing the pass even the bonuses make you go in a certain order. Just seems strange.
It just feels like they want you to go in a certain order but let you get the small stuff like sprays and wraps is a slightly different pattern to look like they’re giving you choice.
I’m just genuinely confused why Epic does this.
P.S. before anyone calls me lazy and wanting stuff handed to me I’m at level 127 with no STW . Just challenges and sometimes creative xp
