If you go to Calamity's house you can see that she has 2 gravestones behind it. So it leads me to believe that Dusk (the vampire skin) Killed Calamity's parents and caused her to transform herself into a vampire hunter. The reason why I know that Calamity is a vampire hunter is because she gets a wooden stake for a pickaxe, and we all know what you do with wooden stakes.
Her house is beside Paradise Palms BTW. The secret loading screen you get for completing all of this week's challenges leads you there.
