Luxe Cup Replays Available for Testing

The Fortnite World Cup is right around the corner! With this event looming, we are constantly working on improving our broadcasting tools so that anyone can hop into the action as a spectator.

Starting today as a trial run, we’d like to share with players a plethora of replays for wider testing of our work-in-progress spectating system. This initial test will allow anyone on PC the ability to grab, and view the full replays of some of the high intensity matches that occur during the Luxe Cup. We’re excited to see VoD reviews, montages, highlights, and other creative content from the community during this first public test.

Replay files of every Luxe Cup match this weekend will be added to the Google Sheets below. (Please note, as these files are quite large, they may take some time to load).

Anyone is able to tune into these matches for their own content; simply save the desired available match replay to the replay folder. Follow the guide below to get started:

Click on the desired replay file from within one of the sheets above.
This will open a browser tab, which will start an automatic download of the replay file.
Navigate in-game to the “Career” tab then “Replays”.
Click on “Open Replay Folder” button at the bottom right to bring up File Explorer and the replay folder.
Move the downloaded replay file from Step 2 into the folder opened in Step 4.
The replay should now be able to be played in-game, by going to “Career” then “Replays” on the main menu within Fortnite Battle Royale.

Remember, our replay tools are still a work in progress and have some wet paint, so please give us your feedback as we work to polish and add features over the next few iterations. We’ll continue to add more replay files here as the Luxe Cup progresses, and will have more replay links available on an upcoming blog post early next week!

Hey everyone. we wanted to offer you the chance to have your say on how we allow social media screenshots. We noticed people have differing opinions when it comes to social media screenshots and so we wanted your feedback on this.

Current Wording of the rule:

Social media screenshots of original content from EPIC and Community figures* only, are allowed. Screenshots of social media comments and YouTube videos will be removed.

*(A community figure is defined as a user with at least 15,000 following on their respective known platform.)

What this rule currently allows people to do is let a user capture a screenshot of a social media post a community figure has made, for example a tweet from a streamer, and post that directly to the subreddit as long as it doesn't break any other rules.

We have two main options in the Poll below which will either remove all these posts or keep the rule the same with no changes.

Luxe Cup Information

Hey folks,

Wanted to give a quick update on the Duos Luxe Cup this weekend.

First, a reminder that all players who compete in the Final Round of the Luxe Cup and other upcoming cash prize tournaments will be required to enable 2FA and link their account to an Epic ID. You can do so by following our guide here: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/news/2fa.

Also, to be eligible to participate in any Luxe Cup match, a player must be at least 13 years old (or such other age, if greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence). Minors must have permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to participate in the Event. All competitors will also be required to acknowledge and accept the official rules in-game before playing. Players must also have a minimum Account Level of 15.

Players who place in the Contenders League in Arena Mode before Round 1 of the Luxe Cup begins will unlock this event in-game. The Luxe Cup will occur across two rounds - Round One (Semi-Finals) on Saturday and Round Two (Finals) on Sunday. Each round will be its own 3 hour session. Hop into the Events tab to find out the times available for your region. Participants will also only be able to play a maximum of 10 matches during each session.

The top 1500 teams in each region at the conclusion of the Semi-Finals will advance to the Finals the next day. After the Finals have concluded, the top ranked eligible teams in each region will be awarded the following prizes:

Arena Visual and Error Issue - Workaround Included

We're investigating two issues related to the Arena game mode. Find full details below:

1) We’re aware of an issue in the Arena game mode where players are seeing negative points to progress to the next division. This is visual only and all Hype points are being properly tracked. We’re working on a fix and will let you know once it’s resolved.

2) We’re aware of a separate issue where players in a party attempting to Duo queue into Arena are receiving an error showing an “invalid token”. To work around this issue make sure that the highest ranked player in the party is the party leader.

We are currently investigating this issue and will provide an update once it’s resolved.

Megathread: Siphon/Material Changes

Hey r/FortniteBR Fam!

There's a lot of chatter going on now with regards to the recent siphon and material changes with this weeks update. In order to keep the sub clutter free, all discussion relating to these recent changes are to be contained in this megathread.

Any discussions outside of this thread is a frequently posted topic and subject to removal.

Excerpt from Patch Notes:

In v7.40 we implemented a few Pop-up Cup settings as a test in core modes. After monitoring a combination of gameplay, data, and feedback, we’ve gathered necessary info to conclude this initial test. We feel it has resulted in an unhealthy level of aggressive play, diminishing other viable strategies. The following changes have been reverted in all core modes:

50 Health (or Shield) based on your health when the Elimination occurs.

50/50/50 materials dropped on Elimination.

500/500/500 Cap on materials.

Harvest rate increased by 40%

That said, these mechanics have proven to be positive in our competitive playlists.

All changes above remain enabled in the new Arena Game Mode.

This subreddit will be the death of this game

There is way too many unrealistic ideas. Too many kids feeling entitled to things! Quit asking for variants. Stop asking to re-release battle pass items. Nobody cares about these stupid “concepts” (might be too harsh, sorry. Some of them are cool and have been implemented). Please stop complaining about aim assist and controller players, PC players will have always have an advantage over console/ controller players. Just stop. We get it, you died to somebody who is better than you. Just rejoin another match and play, not that difficult. Please stop being hateful, negative and disrespectful to others and name calling on here as well. I’ve seen far too many posts that are made by people who genuinely are asking for advice or inquiring about something within the game and just get bullied called a bot or told to get good. I understand that most who read this won’t be able to comprehend what I am discussing. That’s okay, I don’t expect everyone to. Quit calling people sweats or try hards. They are better than you, accept it and move on. Can’t fault somebody for being good at the game or trying to get better. If somebody is able to play more and log more time in the game, that’s great.

This post isn’t intended to be demeaning, and I’m not going to argue back and forth either. I just would like to stop seeing players leave because of such negativity here. The developers have been so responsive to people on here and have done so much to improve this game. There will be bugs, glitches, and overpowered items all the time. They’re constantly fixing things and improving the game to make your experience more enjoyable. In the many years I’ve played any online multiplayer game, I’ve never seen developers fix things as much as Epic does. Quit bashing them. One more thing.... stop with the “OG” stuff. Nobody cares, and if you do, I feel very sorry for you. You played a new game when it came out? Cool, so did I.

Play the game and relax. Enjoy the laughs and stupid moments with your friends. If you want to play competitively or casually, that’s great! Have a good time while doing it.

I play on X-Box and I completely gave up on editing since the update that unified the building and editing sensitivity. I'm forced to use the edit aim assist, which is soooo bad but it's the only way I can get even a simple door edit done. Just give us TWO SEPARATE SETTINGS, PLEASE.

Blackheart Cup Information

Hey folks,

Wanted to give some more information on the Blackheart Cup this weekend and what to expect.

Players who compete in the Final Round of the Blackheart Cup and other upcoming cash prize tournaments will be required to enable 2FA and link their account to an Epic ID. You can do so by following our guide here: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/news/2fa

To be eligible to participate in any Blackheart Cup match, a player must be at least 13 years old (or such other age, if greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence). Minors must have permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to participate in the Event. All competitors will also be required to acknowledge and accept the official rules in-game before playing. Players must also have a minimum Account Level of 15.

Placing in the top 3% in any Gauntlet Test Event by 3/23/19 00:00 UTC will unlock this weekend’s event in-game. The Blackheart Cup will occur across two rounds - Round One (Semi-Finals) on Saturday and Round Two (Finals) on Sunday. Each round will be its own 3-hour session. Participants will also only be able to play a maximum of 10 matches during each session.

The top 3000 point earning players in each region at the conclusion of the Semi-Finals will advance to the Finals. After the Finals have concluded, the top-ranked players from each region will be awarded the following prizes.

Hey everyone!

I’m one of the admins working on the tipping experiment in r/FortNiteBR. Some of you mentioned you would like to get some small recognition when you tip. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve added a couple ways to recognize the most generous supporters in a post:

The top 5 tippers get their usernames and tip amounts highlighted at the bottom of the post
Through the comment thread, they also get a special icon and a distinguished username

As one of the top tippers, you’ll see your name at the top of the post:

How can I tip?

Click on the “Tip” button on a post or a comment (it is currently only available on the redesign, and only on posts from certain creators who enable tipping)
Select the amount you want to tip
After you tip, your username will appear at the top of the post, and you will have an icon next to your username (in that thread only)
You can also tip anonymously. In that case, you won’t appear in the list of Generous Supporters and you won’t get an icon or distinguished username

How can I become a verified creator?

Currently, tipping is only available for a handful of creators. If you’re interested in signing up to get the “Tip” button next to your username on posts/comments in this subreddit, please fill out this form.

We’d like to add more icons in the future. Let me know if there are any icons you'd like to see!

Tipping creators in r/FortNiteBR

Hi everyone,

👋 admin here. I wanted to let you know about an experiment that we’re running in this subreddit. Starting today, users in r/FortniteBR can support a few creators and the community by tipping some posts and comments.

Here’s how it works:

Creators do tons of incredible stuff that makes this subreddit interesting, while the community provides a platform for their expression. This feature allows you to support their efforts.

What happens to my tip?

The creator gets 60% of the tip, the community gets ~20%, and Reddit ~20%. Payment processing fees (~3%) are split between Reddit’s portion and the community’s portion.

The community's portion goes to a common pool of funds that will be initially managed by the top mod u/FinallyRage. He has the support and trust of the other moderators to spend this fund on the community (eg: organizing contests and running bots). We expect to change how the community's portion is distributed and managed in the coming months. Our long term vision is to create a mechanism for all community members to participate in managing the community pool.

Tip payments are handled entirely by Stripe and we don’t store any of your personal or payment information.

Who can receive tips?

During this test, creators need to be approved by Reddit to receive tips. If you are a creator and interested in enabling tipping for your content, fill out this Google Form. Right now it's enabled for a handful of creators but we will likely add more.

What else?

Tipping is currently only available on the redesign. We are working on adding it to other platforms.

These features are opt-in only. We are adding tipping in this community because the moderators opted in. We will not add it to any other communities without enthusiastic support of their moderators.

Finally, over the course of the next several months, we will be developing additional features for this subreddit so stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime, let us and the mods know in the comments below if you have ideas on how the community's portion of funds could be used, or if you have creators you’d like to be able to tip.

A optimization patch is severely needed.

Console performance is complete trash. Shotguns are still not shooting. Phasing and shooting through walls is happening every game. The list goes on and on. I don’t get why epic would rather add some stupid pistol instead of fix their game.

Remove glider redeploy as a item you get from loot in respawn modes. If you have auto pickup it picks it up and drops quantity from 50 to 10.
