Is there much point in playing FN if you don't play religiously?

Edit: I realize I've come across as a bitter loser here instead of someone who wanted a healthy discussion so I apologize for that.

It feels like I'm in a lobby with 95 twitch streaming professional wannabee's.. when I played in S1-3 it was so much more chill and enjoyable but now it's just an absolute sweatfest of a game. It desperately needs a separate ranked game mode. People of all skill groups would benefit from a ranked mode.

I've nothing against people who want to play competitively but for the sake of those players and the ones that don't want to play 24/7 to keep up, please give us a ranked mode to separate us a little. The "storm" isn't actually a storm, it's all the body odor from the masses of sweat converging onto a single location over the course of the game.

There are people who are better than me, and also those who are worse. I'd just like a ranked mode where I won't shit on people who are worse than me and get shat on by those who are better. I know I'd improve so much more playing against my own skill group, and I'd assume good players would get even better playing against their skill group and not just against people who are mostly worse.

Pros get to play scrims, which is kind of like high elo ranked play for them. You have to be very good to get into it and everyone you play against is a top tier player, they do this because that's the best way for them to improve and often it's more fun than just pooping on everyone and not getting any better.

Likewise, those who aren't as great probably don't find it too entertaining to get constantly pooped on and would really enjoy playing against similar skilled people. Of course I'm just making assumptions here LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW AND DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE.

Edit: The ranked mode would be separate from the solos we play today, those who enjoy the chaotic clusterfuck that is solos/duos/squads will be happy and those who want an even and competitive playing field will also be happy.

Can we add a "take the easy way out" option when We're downed?

Imagine this, you're in the endgame. Your friend is carrying the rpg or mats or something and he gets knocked. Now the enemies are all rushing you and there is no time to revive him. You feel like the only way youreof going to win is to grab that rpg and mats. What if there was a way to let yourself just get eliminated so that your friend has a slightly better chance of winning the fight.

It would be something like the last stand perk in call of duty. Where you dont immediately die, but you can take the easy way out. Where you could hold a button for 2 or 3 seconds to just get take the easy way out.

What do you guys think?

Epic, PLEASE give console players an EDITING SENSITIVITY like build mode has!

I feel like editing on console is much easier on a high sensitivity, but I play on a relatively low sensitivity, which means my editing is so slow. I wish Epic would give us the option to make the edit sense the same as your building sense then it would feel a lot smoother. Especially as Epic insists on having cross platform in their competitive modes, console is at such a disadvantage with editing in general when compared to pc, I feel like this change would help us console players out a lot!

P.S thank you Epic for giving us a building sense and instant edit options already. This isn't hate, I just feel like this change would make editing on console a much more pleasant experience.

It's still happening. Microsoft's Fortnite bundle says it comes with the "full game" and 2000 vbucks, but it only comes with a download code for battle royale and the vbucks. This is misleading advertising and preys on the parents who dont know any better. (not my OC)

Disco Domination Mode Details

Summary

It's time for the ultimate dance-off. Dance Floors have spawned around the Battle Royale island. Take them over by clearing out any enemies and then dancing to raise a disco ball up from the floor. The team that earns the most points by capturing and defending the dance floors will win the match!

What's New?

New holiday music & decorations have been added to the Dance Floors
The center Dance Floor has been removed
Players will now gain health & shields when dancing on a Dance Floor that their team controls
Eliminated players now drop both materials and ammunition
Storm shrink time lowered to 30s, to minimize scoring downtime
Storm damage lowered to 1 for circles two and three

Mode Details

Two teams of fifty.
Respawning will be turned on until the third (last) storm circle.
Five dance floors will appear on the map whenever the storm is not moving.
Emoting on a dance floor when no enemies are present will raise a disco ball in the center of the floor, and capture it for your team.
The more friendly players dancing on a floor, the faster it will be captured.
Once a floor is captured, it will begin to fill a "dance bar" on the HUD, until either an enemy stands on it or the current storm timer ends and the storm begins to move. The first team to fill their bar to 100% will win the match.
The dance floors in the later stages of the match award more points, so don't give up if your team is behind!
It is not possible to build on or over the dance floors, but they can be fortified by surrounding them with a fort.
Glider redeploy is activated in this mode, press jump while falling to use your glider.

Why hasn't the Six Shooter been vaulted yet?

I'm just genuinely curious. It seemed like the weapon was only released for the zombie mode in BR, but it's still here like 8 patches later.

No one picks this gun up, and it hasn't been buffed or changed since release. I just don't understand what the purpose of this weapon is supposed to be.

I don’t get to see my son often as I am in the middle of a custody battle with my ex. Ever since I got remarried, there has been excuse after excuse for me not to see him (and his sisters). I am in the middle of court proceedings to get things changed.

In the mean time, you have provided a way that I can spend time with my son. I get to play Fortnite BR on the Switch (I bought us both one) every day with him. He might be in another city, but we get to crush fools on Duo together!

I think Epic forgot to add vending machines to the snow biome. There are no vending machines from Happy Hamlet clear up until you get to the Snobby Shores are of the map. Hopefully if this gets enough attention they can add some vending machines to the new area.

I met this kid on Fortnite...

We loaded in with the rest of the squad, and this kid, I guessed to be about 14, begins to ask basic questions regarding how to play the game, pretending to be a new player. So, as I always do with kids trying to troll me, I called him out:

"Let me guess, you're 14, you're the class clown and you're trying to be funny right now?"

He pauses and an audible giggle can be heard through the mic. And after a minute of him continuing to try and fool me into believing his story, he gave up:

"Nah bro, I'm just trolling you, but honestly you guessed pretty close, I'm 13 and I am the class clown."

So we laughed it off and proceeded to play our squad game together. He asked if I wanted to duo with him after.

We played quite a few games together after that and learned a lot about each other. At one point he asked me:

"Do you think I'm funny?" "Yeah of course, I don't think I'd be playing with a 13 year old if I didn't think you were funny."

He seemed to like that. Later, he asked another question:

"Hey, did you ever like, get bullied in school?"

Everything became clear in an instant. This kid needed someone to talk to. And so we did. We talked about life for a while, his school experiences, the friends who let him down, the girls he never gets, and the bullies who have no regard for his feelings.

He told me he has a rare condition that affects his intestines and has resulted in him having parts of it removed. He explained that much of the bullying stems from this.

Before he logged off for the night he thanked me for listening and said he was glad he could talk to me about those things.

Now, I don't know who this kid is, but never before have I been so emotionally touched by an encounter online. Fortnite brought me into this kid's life at just the right time, and I hope I made an impact.

Needless to say, I'm excited to hop on tonight and play with my new friend. Thank you Fortnite for facilitating this.

TLDR; What I thought to be another kid trolling me in squads, actually became a heartfelt encounter where I learned this "troublemaker" was actually a kid looking for someone to care about him.

You nominate the best in each category and the /r/FortniteBR family will vote on their favorites. Those with the most votes by Midnight (PST) December 28th 2018 will officially be crowned the 'Best of 2018'.

The Rules

Only content posted on /r/FortniteBR and posted in the year 2018 are eligible.
Only one nomination will be accepted per post, comment or person in each category.
Duplicate nominations will be removed with the first having priority.
Reposts from previous years will not be accepted.
All nominations must comply with the rules of subreddit.
This post will be in contest mode and votes will only be visible to moderators.
Only votes placed as comments on the nomination categories posts will be counted.
Vote manipulation will not be tolerated, offending nominations will be disqualified.
In the interest of keeping things fair for everyone, nominees may only win one category. The nominee will be allocated ‘best of’ in the category they received the most votes.

Who can nominate?

Anyone who is subscribed to the sub, however, we will not be accepting nominations on behalf of permanently banned users.

How do I vote?

Simply upvote the nomination under each category.

We would like to set specific focused feedback on Planes to base your conversation on, potential talking points are:

Do planes provide a better or worse advantage when in combat against ground opponents?
How do planes affect the flow of the game in terms of rotations?
Should the damage output of the planes guns be adjusted, if so, in what way?
Is the availability of finding them too much or too little.
Should planes be able to do significant building damage by direct impact, does this need balancing in anyway?
Should players be dealt a set amount of damage when colliding with structures, if so, how much?

Discuss what you really enjoy or really dislike about it, any and all conversation/feedback is welcome and accepted within your comment as well.

If you are still having issues with your HUD after patching, please put in a player support ticket here. You will need to submit the ticket under the Epic Games Account selection and enter "Missing HUD" as your description.

By putting in a player support ticket your profile settings will be reset to default. You will not lose your player level, Battlepass, or any cosmetic items.

We’re seeing a lot of things relevant to us explode in popularity and will be needing new moderators across all of our subreddits. We will be doing a full applicant pool across all subreddits and will be interviewing people for a chance at the subreddits that they like.
