Change the “Vault” to a Museum!!

Instead of putting old weapons into the “Vault”, why not make a location on the map called the Museum. Have all the retired relics of Fortnite on display for people who weren’t around to see them! You could put pictures or articles of big events that have happened in the game. It would be an ever changing history book of Fortnite that everyone could enjoy.

Updated/New SPOILERS for Season 4 Battle Pass + Meteor

Hello /r/FortNiteBR! /u/internetadam here with even more spoilers updating my last post about Season 4 of Fortnite.

• The meteor will be hitting Dusty Depot, and NOT Tilted Towers as so many believe. Epic has thought this area of the map has needed an update for a long time.
• The map will always be evolving. The map will be updated WEEKLY in Season 4. Epic feels like they had a wasted opportunity with Tilted Towers going up all at once. They would rather have had bulldozers & a few raising cranes one week, then one building go up the next week, two buildings the following week, etc.
• Moisty Mire will be gone by the end of Season 4.
• The Season 4 Battle Pass is all Supehero-themed. There will be superhero skins and villain skins (at least 2 of each). They aren't from Marvel or DC, just Epic's own characters.

I really want my spoiler about Season 5 to happen, so I'm going to wait a bit longer before I post about it.

4/26 - Hotfix

Heya folks,
 
First Shot Accuracy  
In v3.6 we added an accuracy reset when crouching/uncrouching. This was added to prevent undesired gameplay where players would quickly uncrouch, fire a perfectly accurate shot, then crouch again for cover. As an unintended side effect, a short delay was introduced when going from hip-fire to aiming.

We’ll be pushing a hotfix shortly to revert this v3.6 accuracy reset. We will separately address the crouch/uncrouch in a future update.
 
Week 10 Challenge - Skydive Through Floating Rings  
We found an issue with the Weekly Challenge “Skydive through floating rings”, where rings were intermittently granting credit. We’ll be pushing a hotfix that will fix the blue rings; the purple rings should be improved, but may still not grant credit. (Note: To ensure a high likelihood of getting credit, make sure to fly in the center of the ring).

Anyone else really hoping the next season theme isn't aliens?

Honestly, i wasnt that big of a fan of the whole space theme with this season. The astronaut skins just don't do it for me and the speculation around the theme is aliens, another space theme.. Is it just me or is anyone else hoping for a theme out of left field?

We got EVERYTHING we wanted...

We can now build on fences.

We got the ADS bug on builder pro fixed.

We got the sprinting bug on builder pro fixed.

We got FSA reset on crouch.

We got the remote explosives 40% down from chests / floor loot.

WE EVEN HAVE THE ABILITY TO REFUND ACCIDENTAL PURCHASES!

Let's not complain about the fact that we cant refund EVERYTHING. As someone who has regretted making numerous purchases (that god damn dragon glider scares the everlasting shit out of me everytime it opens I refuse to use it) there's simply no reason for them to let us refund everything we've ever purchased.

This update is awesome, plain and simple - So lets reserve the complaining for at least when the servers crash later today.

The Hand Cannon and Revolver have INSANE damage drop-off at range compared to the others guns.

At maximum range, every gun with dropoff will do 65-68% of their damage EXCEPT for the revolver and hand cannon, which only do a pitiful 40% (Source). The blue revolver will hit for 24 damage, and the legendary hand cannon is barely any better at 31 damage. For reference, a legendary SCAR at max range will hit for 24 damage per bullet and fires much faster!

The net result is that these precision pistols feel incredibly unsatisfying. They do too little damage to be used effectively at long range, and they're never going to be a first choice in close quarters combat due to their slow fire rate.

If Epic could fix/bring into line the damage drop-off for these pistols it would make them actually have a place in the game. It would also give people more options of what guns to use and therefore increase gun variety (I don't think I've ever come across somebody using these guns so far).

TLDR: Make revolver and hand cannon not hit like wet noodles at range

It's time to add a "Confirm Purchase" button to the shop

I can't understand why this hasn't been implemented already. There are so many people who accidentally bought a 20$ skin. I know that there now is a skin refund system in the game where you can return up to 3 skins, but i don't want to waste a refund just because i accidentally bought a skin.

EPIC, i know you listen to us very often. Please give us a "confirm purchase" button.

EDIT1: There even is a "Confirm Quit" button if you want to leave the round.

EDIT2: The refund system only allows you to refund things which was bought in the last 30 days. So many of us can't get their money back.

Russian Fortnite Players Need Help!

Hello guys!Writing from Russia here!It has been 5 days since fortnite was accidentally blocked by russian government in an attempt to block popular messaging app Telegram.The problem is noone recognizes the problem and the biggest russian social hub for the game bans people who write about the block.At 17 of april they(vk group that is official I guess) posted that some people may experiece problems with the game and its not the fault of epic but then they deleted the post which had 6.5k likes and comments on it).

So my only hope is that maybe if this post will get upvoted epic will make some kind of official response to this.Tens of thousands of games in Russia can't play the game and noone seems to care.Its not that its a big problem not to play for a week,its that im not sure its gonna be fixed ever if not brought to attention.If you check every post and every twitch comment related to fortnite most people would talk about using VPN to play the game and so on...

I think fortnite needs that type of skin. A skin where people see it and just instantly get scared. John Wicks are jokes, especially since you can buy tiers. I think we should get a skin/emotes for season levels. Hitting level 100 on the season takes an obnoxious amount of time, but rewarding players who do so with a skin or some cosmetic would be great.

50v50 - Increased Storm Damage

Hey Folks,

We’ve made a hotfix adjustment to the storm damage in 50v50. The storm will now deal 10 damage per tick for all ring phases. ⛈️

This change was made to improve gameplay flow - we noticed that a high number of matches were resolving with a team healing outside of a storm, rather than resolving due to the normal pace of combat.

Corrupted Replay Information

Heya,

We've been seeing some confusion around "Corrupted Replays" today so I figured I'd drop in and clarify some things.

As of now any replays that were saved in a previous update will not work once a new one is released.

Example:

• A replay saved in v3.5 will not be watchable in v3.5.1

However, in the future, we are working towards making replays work for the entirety of each major patch. This means that your replays would work until we have another major patch, which is usually every two weeks.

Example:

• A replay saved in v3.5 will work in every v3.5 version (v3.5.1, v3.5.2, etc) but will be unwatchable once v3.6 releases.

So for the time being keep this in mind when planning your editing sessions and keep creating and sending us your Epic Fortnite submission to the #ReplayRoyale contest!

Tilted Towers Wake Ceremony (April 18, 2018)

Today, at 6:00 PM EST we will all queue up at the same time into solos, and land at Tilted Towers to honor it’s greatness by destroying every single structure in the city. Every tree, every building, every car. Once everything is gone, we all have a massive dance party to pay respects to the city. Be there, to honor this soon-to be fallen location by standing united and in harmony.

This is across all platforms and across all servers. Make sure to queue up at exactly 6:00 PM EST, you can use google to find the exact same time for your specific time zone.

Upvote this to spread the word, once the time comes we should have enough people for the ceremony if we get enough upvotes. Share this across all social medias so we can all honor the glory of Tilted as a unit.

Peeking, Weapon Swapping, and Guided Missile

We’ve seen a lot of productive discussions recently and want to provide clarity around the recent changes!
 
Peeking  
In v3.4, we identified an unintended behavior with shooting that affected a small number of players. However, when implementing a fix in v3.5, we unintentionally introduced a bug around peeking over structures and edges. The result of this issue is that you would accidentally end up shooting your own structures. We will be rolling back this change in v3.5.2 this week, and we’ll be taking a little more time to evaluate how we fix the original issue.
 
Weapon Swapping  
We recently introduced weapon equip times. This change was geared towards balancing quick switching between different weapons with low rate of fire (effectively bypassing the drawbacks that make these weapons fair).  
After reviewing your feedback, we’ll be making a number of changes in a hotfix later today:  

• Snipers and Crossbows do not benefit as much from quick switching, so we’ll be reverting the equip time changes for those weapons.
  • We will be keeping the delay for the remaining weapons with the new behavior - Shotguns, Revolver, Hand Cannon, and Rocket Launcher. Note: All other weapons do not have equip times.
• Weapon equip animations will be improved in a future update. These are unfortunately somewhat misleading - it’s possible to fire sooner than the gun appears ready, so they feel more sluggish than they really are. You may notice this on a few weapons.

These two changes are an iterative step in taking another look at our weapon swapping and improving it for the long run. Please share your feedback as we continue to work on these changes.
 

Guided Missile  
We’ve gotten a lot of feedback around the Guided Missile, in particular concerns over fairness and strength of the weapon. We share your concerns, so we’ve put the Guided Missile into the vault while we figure out the next steps for for its future.

I did something horrible now I cant live with myself. Please forgive me

There I was landing with my squad in Haunted Hills, I go for the 2 chests across from the church tower. But alas there is only 1. I open it and out pops a grey assault rifle, bandages, and some ammo. Out of nowhere a player from another squad swoops in and takes it. I immediately think I'm crap out of luck, but this lovely human being just looks at me for a moment and runs away. I think to myself, wow what a nice guy. The rest of my squad is currenty shooting it out with some other players by the church tower. I decide to head on over to rally up, I pick up a blue hunting rifle on the way.

My squad has vanquished the enemies and I run on over, and then I see a lone wolf taking aim at my squad's back, so i raise my rifle, line up a headshot and before i could register what is happening, the lone wolf turns towards me as if we were linked by fate, he waves and then saltues me, next thing i know a piercing shot flew out of my gun and struck him in the head, as I saw him drop to the ground I came to the horrible realization that this was the player who spared my life.

They spared me and I just struck him down while he was trying to wave at me. There was nothing I could do at that point, the deed was done. I now must carry this guilt forward, and I feel horrible. Whoever you were kind human, im sorry for not waving back, im sorry I killed you. RIP mysterious lone wolf, you didnt deserve this.

This is a BIG week for Epic

I think this week is one of those make or break weeks in terms of bug fixes and player retention. They have alot of big issues on their plate and the community will be eagerly awaiting to see how they respond to ALL of them. Some of these issues include:

• Dick Bullets (having to overpeak your structure so your shot clears)
• Weapon Swap Delay (This includes swapping from building mode)
• Weapon Shot Delay (Your gun finally arrives but won't shoot)
• Phantom Floors (If someone dies on a floor piece you fall through it)
• Shotgun Damage Inconsistency (Point blank 7-12 dmg)
• etc (basically anything added recently that SLOWS down the pace of play)

I feel like in this games core, it is supposed to be fast paced and adrenaline inducing. In the past few updates, the pace of play has been slowed due to, but not limited to the above issues. I don't know how I feel about 1st shot accuracy, but if there were ever a game that bloom worked with, it was this one.

At one point, this game was unique because the better shooter could be outplayed by the better builder. It can still be the case, but not as much right now. I always thought of this game as a positioning/repositioning game more than a shooter. I know Epic is trying to do great things right now, but sometimes less is more. Impulses were one of the greatest additions to any game, EVER. I feel like the addition of those fit perfectly into the flow and style of game that Fortnite is. Port-a-fort and guided missiles, not so much. It takes absolutely zero skill or practice to use either and they both slow the game down.

All that said, I will restate my original thought. This is a BIG week for you Epic. I know everything can't be fixed in a week, but there are alot of eyes on you right now wondering what direction this game is going to take. If you can't fix it all with the update, you should really try to fix some of it with an official statement. Just PLEASE don't pull a Daybreak and deviate from your core so far that you become unrecognizable to your playerbase.

Days like today are reasons I keep playing this game.

I was having a bad day,my parents and I got into an argument and none of my friends were online so I decided to play squad fill and try to meet new people.

First game,no one had a mic and they all went tilted.

Second game,one guy had a mic and dropped tilted while everyone else went Salty.

Third game,I met this kid. He had to be less then like 7 years old and he was playing with his dad watching and helping him. I talked to him a bunch that game and he was just adorable,and he actually had knowledge of the game constantly telling me to get mats or where an enemy was.

We made it to the top ten and the last 2 squads taught each other so it was now a 2v4(our tm8s died early) he told me to build a base and we did. He told me where an enemy was and I sniped and he cheered me on. He told me to rush them while he miniguns from the back. I do as told and we absolutely whooped the last squad and boy oh boy was the kid so happy. Right when the Victory Royale popped up he screamed to the top of his lung and started celebrating with his dad and told me to add him.

We played a few more games before I had to go but man it felt good. He was so kind and wasn’t even a bad player. And the best part is when I told him a had to go he said

“Bye Best Friend”

Damn FortNite made me shed a tear today.

Epic, you see a lot of pros complaining but here's a word from some noobs

I play quite a lot of Fortnite, but I'm not good at it. I'm improving, along with some friends who are a bit less skilled than I. I just got my first solo win yesterday, and that was pure luck and a bit of strategy (my only strong suit). Both my pro friends and my noobish friends have agreed that the removal of the guided missile makes the game feel nicer and more fun, however, with the weapon delay the game feels, as many have said before me, clunky, slow, and a little bit unfinished. Both of these things seem like they are to cater to the worse players, but they both aren't seen as a good feature by either. It won't seem like a developer submitting to their community if you remove them, it will seem like developers taking feedback of their players. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

State of the Subreddit: New Moderators, Survey Results, Flairs and Filters Update (REQUIRED Flairs on ALL Posts), Rules Update

Hey /r/FortNiteBR!

We’ve seen the feedback on the last post regarding the length and format. We tried to do our best to make points short and concise, but we often choose to make long and detailed posts because of many factors (with the major one being sticky space — each subreddit is only allowed a maximum of 2 at a time).

I have added a TL;DR to the end of every section if you prefer to read those, though you may miss some of the details and reasoning behind our actions.

 

Since the last post, we’ve seen a huge boom in both new users and page views. Here are some stats about the subreddit

• We’ve been averaging around 6 million page views per day
• 5500+ new subscribers per day
• 4500+ posts per day

The above numbers are great! However, this one is not so great

• 1000+ post removals per day (please read the rules before you post everyone)

Out of the 4500 posts per day, almost a quarter of them get removed (thanks to our incredibly hard working mod team!), but even with all the removals, we miss a lot of posts due to the sheer volume of posts. We kindly ask all users to please use the “report” button on any post or comment that you think breaks our rules found at /r/FortniteBR/wiki/rules. Reports are a huge help, and they assist us in taking action on offending posts much quicker.

 

To help with the influx of users, we’ve added a few new moderators. Most of them have already been actively moderating the last few weeks already, but we decided to add their announcement into this post. Please welcome /u/dasoxarechamps2005, /u/iDetroy, /u/imtcce, and /u/MasterGoat in the comments! Additionally, we may be adding a couple more from the previous pool of applicants in the coming days/weeks.

On the other hand, we are sad to see /u/Soggydoughnuts step down as a moderator due to real life responsibilities. He was a fantastic mod and we wish him the best <3

 

TL;DR:

• 6 million page views per day
• 4500 new posts per day. 1000+ post removals by mods per day. Please read the rules and report any posts you think break the rules.
• New mods /u/dasoxarechamps2005, /u/iDetroy, /u/imtcce, and /u/MasterGoat

Survey Results and Memes

A month and a half ago, we posted a survey that would help shape some of the rules on the sub. Here are the results

As mentioned in the prior post, it has been difficult keeping up with the many low quality meme posts. We posted the current meme rules and received a lot of feedback. According to the survey, a majority of users thought the best approach was requiring a post flair with the same restrictions. However, second highest group was no meme restrictions. These are virtually 2 opposite opinions, so no matter what we decide, a large majority of people will be unhappy.

Ultimately, the mod team agreed with the majority; memes will be allowed under the same restrictions (though we need to do a better job of sticking to our rules and not allowing exceptions when a post gets heavily upvoted) but will now require the "Humor" post flair.

 

TL;DR:

• Results to the survey we made last post regarding memes.

Flairs & Filters

*This is quite long so feel free to only read the TL;DR

 

The first trend is a heavy majority of you think that Post flairs should be required on either some posts or all. As a mod team, we decided to require ALL posts have a flair.

Our main designer /u/MasterGoat has implemented a ‘toggle filter’ system so users can pick and chose what they want to see, and this feature can be seen live above the posts/comments sections where it says "Active Filters". Here you'll also see all of our currently available filter categories: Bug, Discussions, Suggestions, Media, Creative and Humor.

 

*Note: the Media filter will hide all posts with the flair "Media", "Streamer" and "Screenshot"

 

If you click one of them, you will be forwarded to a view of the subreddit which will hide submissions with that flair (i.e. if you click "Humor", it will forward you to "the subreddit without the humor flair". The little eye icons next to the flair in the ‘Active Filters’ bar indicate whether you currently see the flair (regular eye) or whether it's hidden from your view (crossed out eye), this is also reflected by greying out the filter. You can click on the flairs in the active filter bar to freely pick and choose if you want to add or remove additional filters!

Unfortunately, this feature is only available for our PC users due to Reddit mobile’s limited functionality. However, for other filtering methods for our RES users and Mobile users, or for more details on the magic behind the filter, feel free to visit our Subreddit Documentation which explains this system in detail.

 

When you post, you will receive a PM as well confirming that you will have a grace period of 30 minutes to flair your post appropriately, or it will be automatically removed. Requiring post flairs should assist all users and allow for better filtering.

 

*We will be providing a grace period for the first few days/week(s). Our bot won’t automatically remove it after 30 minutes, and all removals will be manual. The rule will be the same, but it won’t be automatic which means the removals might be a bit delayed. Feel free to report any posts that don't have a flair after 30 minutes of it being posted.

 

After you submit a post, you will have an option of 8 flairs to choose from to flair your post.

• Bug - For newly discovered bugs outside the patch megathread.

• Discussion - For your general posts about anything.

• Suggestion - For all your in-game ideas, including game modes and low effort skin suggestions. Please remember that suggestions must follow our post title guidelines of no "Title Only Posts"

• Media - For your clips and any other media that meets the promotional guidelines.

• Streamer – For any post relating to a Fortnite streamer (e.g. Ninja this, Ninja that)

• Screenshot – For all your amazing screenshots! (With the new replay system we look forward to seeing the amazing shots the community puts up on this flair!)

• Creative - For Fanmade content, including 3D printed items, cosplays, artwork for ideas and high effort skin concepts.

• Humor - For your jokes, funny posts, and memes that meet the meme guidelines.

  ---

• Epic - This flair will only show up when an Epic employee creates a thread or comments on a thread. You can find Epic posts by clicking on the Epic Games logo under the header of the sub!

 

TL;DR:

• Toggleable flair filter system and how it works
• All posts will require the user to set their own flair
• Pick the right flair from the list above
• 30 minute grace period to set flair before auto removal

Known Community Issues

In case you guys didn't know, Epic has made a public Trello board to track the hottest community issues that they are either investigating, need more information on, or have fixed in a future update! When you find a "new" bug, please check the Trello board or the most recent patch megathreads before making a new post.

 

TL;DR:

• Check the public Trello board to see if Epic already knows about a bug and for the ETA of the fix.
• Hopefully this reduces spam on the subreddit.

Watermarks/Stolen Content/Clickbait

We get it. There are YouTubers who clickbait, Instagram/Social Media pages who steal content from the subreddit and don't credit the OP, and many reminders by fellow Redditors to watermark your posts. If you don't want your OC to be stolen by someone else on the Internet, please watermark it. Example of Good Watermark vs. Bad by /u/Bromeek. Another good example done by TheSneakyBros (they make phenomenal concept art that you can see on Twitter @TheSneakyBro!).

However, reminders to watermark your work, watermarks that say something like "Not for <Insert YouTuber>", screenshots of people stealing from Reddit, screenshots of a clickbait thumbnail, or anything similar to are not allowed under our "Witch Hunting" rule and will be subject to removal.

 

TL;DR:

• We know people steal stuff
• Watermark properly (examples above)
• Don't have watermarks that say "Not for <Insert YouTuber>", screenshots of people stealing from Reddit, screenshots of a clickbait thumbnail, or anything similar

Server Status

You may have noticed a new "wifi" icon on the menu bar of /r/FortNiteBR. Please use this button to check the status of Epic's servers before posting about matchmaking/login issues. We hope this will prevent the flood of posts in "new" whenever an outage occurs. Mobile users can access this link by tapping the "..." icon on the top right of the app and then pressing "community info." It is the first link under "Useful Links."

 

TL;DR:

• Check to see if the servers are down by clicking the new wifi icon on the menu bar at the top.
• Hopefully will reduce duplicate posts.

Summary

You will see that requiring post flairs and enabling a stronger filter covers the answers from the survey. People can see whichever type of content they want, and ignore the content they do not want to see.

While the filters may not be perfect or to your liking as an individual, it is a strong first step to maintaining a clean, fun, and high-quality subreddit.

Did anyone really ask for the pump delay?

Disabling double pump was the best and only choice. Everyone could use it and a lot of people did. Boxing someone in with building, quickly editing and shooting them was not done by everyone, pretty much only skilled players were good enough to pull it quickly. Why in the hell was this nerf needed? My most enjoyable moments from the game are when you outbuilt and edited quickly to drop on the poor guy to shotgun him. And now if you do it you'll just most likely die because you can't shoot. Don't try to fix something that is not broken.
